There may not be a Charli XCX featuring Róisín Murphy mash-up on the cards, but she admits that "there's a couple of little things bubbling around" in terms of a follow-up to Hit Parade, the record that earned the best reviews of her career. Nor is she ruling out the notion of going down an entirely different musical path at some point. "More voiceless instrumentation, maybe, working with different forms — why not?" she says. "As I get older, I don't wanna fight so much with genre and clutter in the music."

The backlash for brat is so dumb. If the album didn't pop off and become such a cultural moment with the normies, she would have still be an adored indie darling. I personally think the album is still great and the era was fun, refreshing and further proof that Charli is a one of a kind musical talent. Shame we want these under the radar beloved musicians to have their moment then turn on them when it actually happens for them.

Not her acting like she's a club savior when in reality she's hating on the people that found their safe spaces on that scene or even allow them to start their music/artistic careers.

 

She really thinks her music is really pure club music when in reality is just sophisticated electropop  I can even see BRAT being more clubby than anything Roisin has ever released but well

I feel like there was an increasing sentiment as the brat era became more of a moment and cultural phenomenon that people felt she was selling out and playing too much into the commercialization of it. I remember in like September the people who used to love and laude it were already like 'BRAT SUMMER IS OVER!!!! It's so lame now' and even more so when it was co-opted for the Kamala campaign.
