'cut!' was my anthem during most of 2024 so i am very excited !! I haven't listened to the other tracks in a long time so this will be fun to listen to.

Probably the label forced her to release it like this which im not fan of. I hate when artists release half of the album before it comes out.

Completely agree. While I thoroughly enjoyed the Intermission EP, I genuinely do wish they weren't included in the album so we'd have 14 new songs instead so I am slightly disappointed.

But…My current thought is that the label is trying to figure how to push Maren now that she's no longer catering to the Country audience. By including all of the tracks from the EP, they might feel better about the sales since not only they're losing a huge chunk of Country audience and they're also going to struggle with radio since she's not a household name for Pop, Hot AC, and Triple AAA radio just yet even though she has had two hits on these formats.

Hopefully no more songs after the one we get on Thursday. I never realized that we were getting all of the songs from the ep when the album was announced today. I doubt that it was her choice to release the album like this. I wish were getting all new songs instead of having half of the album being out before the release date.

Agreed. No more singles until May 9th. Fingers crossed we'll also get a deluxe edition! This way we would get 4-5 new songs on the top of the 7 songs that's coming.

She should have chosen TWO songs TOPS from the EP & have the rest be new songs. 
 

I blame Tori Kelly for starting this trend now everybody is doing it "Jojo" & "Maren now".

Excited for new music but major MEH to the entire EP AND People Still Show Up being on the album. I thought PSSO was a promo track for something really boring.  
 

I loved cut! Just wished it was longer because I could see that kind of pop sound working for her. 
 

Hero is one of my favorite debut albums ever and I loved GIRL too. Humble Quest was a really weird "era" because it was way more traditionally country than I expected, especially after The Bones did wonders for her. Hoping she can rebound but nervous there's not much of a space for her.

Thankfully this is already better than anything that was on the EP (and People Still Show Up) so that gives me a little more hope that the rest of the album will be top notch quality!

Carry Me Through is quite basic and very forgettable. She kind of lost her spark imo. Her first album was so sonically intriguing and the melodies were tight and catchy af. This feels very hot A/C basic to me
