808dream Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Last year I went to a conference where they were talking of how intelligence was the feature supposed to grant longevity to humans, it was supposed to be an evolution upgrade, like opposable thumb. But, considering the speed we're heading to extinction and how we're trashing our planet, brain upgrades turned out to be extremely counterproductive, or at least human didn't use the powerful tool they were given by evolution in order to survive but to self destroy. This is what they were saying, and I always think about that conference every time I read news like this. It's super depressing the most horrendous people always end up in charge of taking decisions for everyone else's life, considering they're doing that getting millions of votes from millions of people. Brain isn't definitely the tool meant to grant longevity to humankind.

I used to feel this way, and I still have empathy for people who are struggling and feel like they can't win for losing. But... they heard all the monstrous things he said and did. The corruption, sexual assaults, racism, fascism, misogyny, xenophobia... not a single one of those things were disqualifying to his voters.
