Popstar and former reality television personality JoJo Siwa has faced backlash after posting the item she was attempting to bring with her while preparing to evacuate her $4 million dollar LA mansion during the ongoing wildfires.

 

While most people scramble to collect cherished photographs, pets, and other memorabilia, the star showcased the ultimate prized possession she was attempting to save - namely a glitzy black bodysuit which she wore during her 2024 music video for her single "Karma."

 

But people online were quick to point out how 'tone deaf' the move felt.

 

One said: "What about all the people who are losing their homes, family, pets and belongings? What about wildlife? Why post this?"

 

Another added: "We care about the people who don't have the money to rebuild their lives after the fires."

 

And a third noted: "I think there are more important things to talk about."

 

In another clip, JoJo contemplated bringing another outfit.

 

She said: "It's my BOOMERANG costume. This is my entire life! How about this? I'll leave it on the counter and if in the midst of a fire I'm like 'Wait, Boomerang costume,' that means I really really want it. I would be DEVASTATED if I lost this."

To me it's the way she's posting online with the biggest smile on her face when tens of thousands of homes have gone up in flames. Some people are so self absorbed and narcissistic. Ew. She clearly lacks empathy.

Why would she lack empathy for coping with humor (about herself) in her own situation? All her important documents are already elsewhere, she can replace most things, so it's important to grab sentimental items and get out. Those costumes were custom made by hand by her mom.

 

Not that it matters to the news, but she has also been sharing donation links and information every day, as well as donating to gofundme's for people in need. Her home is also right in the current path of the fire, I would say she understands the severity.
