honestly they are a dynamic duo and so underrated, a touch of the beat will always be one of my favourite albums and they killed it live. they will have their moment, i believe in them :alexz:

I love that they're saying FU to this a literal week after being denied by them and pitching themselves as "a new mother and aunt"

Nice drive by post. You seem bitter!

you didn't even need to watch the video, the tweet shows how they said they loved the record but couldn't use it on an "old" act.

Call the label out!

"We're not here to break women in their 30s"

….

i know they weren't HUGE but Aly and AJ are familiar names to a demographic (old gen z and young millennials) that still engages with music and small live shows, especially if they pander to the gays and exploit limited physical releases. If anything it speaks to a lack of imagination on the part of that label.

And in my opinion, they are the Disney ex-acts with the best music by a landslide since they were teenagers. They are the embodiment of songwriting and their harmonies are beautiful.

sounds like a promising songwriting career in their future

I'm sorry, but this is a huge problem. We always say age shouldn't be a barrier and all that but society is just too ageist rn. How is anyone over 25 supposed to get a start on a music career?

This isn't them starting, they've been releasing music almost every (other) year since like 2006

I'm sure Aly & AJ will find more success without this ageists. This label clearly wasn't doing a good job anyways

and not because they been making boring music for several eras now?

I've just streamed that new song and it's indeed boring as hell.

This. I think the label tried to find an excuse to get rid of Aly & AJ since they're not as successful as them. They should go independent atp

There are many women that are killing in their 30s. It's just an excuse. They also look really younger than their ages.

I think labels want younger artists, not only for the commercial purpose, but also because it's easier for them to sign and trap with contracts a teen or a vvery young artist who doesn't really know about stuff like this.  Artists like Aly & Aj are veterans and they know about the business.

Its funny they mention not having a gimmick cause as soon as sabrina got one she blew tf up

They're better off independent, tbh.

Suddenly y'll are up in arms about the blatant ageism in the music industry while simultaneously telling 40 y.o. artists in pop music to retire
