nostalgia Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Can Jennifer Aniston and Emma Roberts someday win an Oscar? After actresses like Jamie Lee Curtis and Demi Moore have recently received critical and commercial acclaim for their transformative performances, it raises the question of whether Jennifer and Emma, who have also been typecast as 'popcorn actresses,' can achieve a similar career renaissance. Both Jennifer and Emma have already shown their capacity for dramatic performances—Jennifer in The Morning Showand Emma in Palo Alto—proving they can step outside their comfort zones. Jamie Lee and Demi demonstrated that by taking their craft seriously and seeking out unconventional, challenging roles, they could win over both critics and audiences alike. What steps could Jennifer and Emma take to achieve this level of recognition, and do they have the potential to follow in Jamie and Demi's footsteps for their own moment of redemption?
YourFavoriteWeapon Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago (edited) Emma 110% deserved a Best Actress nomination for Palo Alto. Edited 15 hours ago by YourFavoriteWeapon
Shelter Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Aniston could win with a good drama. Who would've thought Pam could be taken serious and yet she is getting nominated. 2
SylMacPer Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Jen has won major awards! She has a Globe, she has an EMMY, she has a SAG! Multiple nominations for The Morning Show as well! Cake did very well too! Jen was always much much bigger than Demi! And she's recognised mostly about being a comedy actress anyway!
Scandalous Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Aniston could do it if she wanted but she hasn't even tried since Cake, people downplay how respected she is in the industry but she has every major acting award except an Oscar harder for Emma bc i don't think she's ever even been nominated for a major award she'd need a mikey madison type of moment 1
PoisonPill Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) These awards are mostly about narrative, particularly Best Actress/Supporting Actress. JLC's role in EEAAO is one of her least Oscar-worthy performances, but she was propelled by the narrative of it being "her time" as well as the hype around the movie. Then her Golden Globes speech went viral and sort of sealed the deal. Though I used to consider Demi a distant long-shot for the Oscar, I actually now think she has a good chance of winning because of her intense campaigning, Golden Globes speech and the narrative she created about finally being recognized as a worthy actress after four decades in the industry. So yes, anyone can win an Oscar with the right timing, narrative and campaigning. Edited 14 hours ago by PoisonPill 1
Bhabylon Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Neither of them have the talent that Demi has, nor do they have the career that the activia lady had 1 1

Into The Void Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Who cares. Tons of actors and actresses will never win an Oscar or ever be nominated for any award. Why r people so obsessed with these useless awards. They don't mean anything.
AshleyLovescats887 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Emma could definitely do it. She is very talented and iconic so she just needs a good movie that pops off
Blade Runner Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Jennifer could. Sadly, Hollywood doesn't produce many mid-budget dramas anymore. That's over.
EnigmaticAndroid Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Jen could. She's good when she's not in awful projects and has goodwill, especially with The Morning Show. Emma's a lost cause imo. She's a rather limited actor and her notoriously bad attitude has probably hurt her in the industry, which is a big reason why JLo couldn't get in for Hustlers. Too little support and too many burned bridges
ImpressMeMuch Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Isn't Emma a DV abuser, one note actor and a nepo baby?
Johnny Jacobs Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If matthew mcconohay (i don't know how to spell his name, you got who) got a best actor award, anything can happen
OrgVisual Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Yes, it's easier for these renowned actresses to get an Oscar later in their career once they have a very good role/performance, mainly because they have earned their respect in Hollywood, already have a strong connection in the industry and a strong narrative to win ("she's so famous, why she doesn't have an Oscar yet, just give it to her")
theboyismine Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago what was unconventional and challenging about demi's role? 1
okgo Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago JLC had already won BAFTA and Golden Globes like decades before EEAAO but yeah, pretty much anyone can with the right role/campaign/timing
