right where you left me Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Two female rappers who became popular very quickly and lost that popularity just as quickly. Who had the bigger fall from grace/quicker downfall?
PerfectCure Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Iggy was already being compared to Nicki in her short lasting hey days. Ice Spice was just the buzz rap girl for few months in 2023. The answer is obvious 1
skeeyee Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I mean iggy reached much higher highs, and so far much lower lows. And considering she is a white blonde woman she lost even worserer 2 4
Ubermensch Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Somebody at Live Nation thought Iggy could do a solo arena tour. 7
MonsterNavy Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Iggy actually had couple of hits and Nicki was actually threatened by her lmao Ice Spice has nothing to lose she's still unknown and irrelevant 1
Popboi. Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Iggy had more hits and they were much bigger than Ice's, but now she's promoting bitcoin and NFT so...
LustSpell Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Iggy was MUCH bigger and even had other rappers shook with how easy she snatched hits and award nominations. Ice Spice always screamed flavor of the month. 7
Born to Run Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Iggy's flop got featured in Oscar nominated film. I. Spice will be lucky if she's featured in Pitchfork's throwback playlist. 2
Asparagus Spears Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Give it 5 years and everyone will look back with much kinder eyes on Iggys career. The girl had bops. Even had a feature with Britney motherf***in spears. Put some respek on her name 1

I Melt Away Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I've been here for both of their peaks and lows and Iggy had a much bigger fall because of the height she was in. And her fall was BAD. This video singlehandedly undid every big move she was making I don't think Ice Spice is hated right now as much as Iggy was.

lillavend3r Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Iggy's peak was higher Ice barely got a hit and it was a collab with Nicki
James_Joint Posted January 9 Posted January 9 (edited) Ice spice. She was pushed so heavily on social media and was even being hailed by major publications as the "new princess of rap", when she had barely even made noise as a rapper and ultimately did nothing. The hype was bizarre, tbh. Iggy had the actual success, but was never claimed to be some new conqueror of female rap aside from her actual success. Also, I think it was problematic to say that Iggy was using a "blaccent" because you're essentially hearing Iggy and saying "she's trying to sound like a black woman", how is that not problematic? TiaTamera Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Iggy was never going to have a long rap career. She was a white blonde woman from Australia who not only has a Blaccent but called herself a "runaway slave master". Azealia Banks been clocked. Ice actually had a shot because she had the looks, the beats, and the clout, but she blew it being repetitive and talking about poop.

BlahBlahBlah Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Ice Spice was a meme. I think people forget how big Iggy was when she blew up. It only lasted a year but it was a big one, she blocked herself from getting another number one hit at her peak.

It's literally NOT her real voice. She's from Australia and she uses a southern Black accent for her music. This is what she really sounds like: Stop the cap. OT: 10000% Iggy. Ice Spice never had a #1 hit and was mainly considered a novelty. Iggy had potential and was everywhere and bombed hard after the accusations. 1
blackoutbritney Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Iggy had a much more impressive high feats and lasted longer. She also was able to maintain a strong cult following up until she retired. Ice has crashed and burned

So, you heard Iggy and said "that's what a southern black woman sounds like" I feel like southern black women shouldn't be boxed in like that. They can speak however they want and I'm sure they don't all speak like that. 1
