Guests were also treated to luxury beauty and skin treatments of a $40,000 non-surgical stem cell facelift — offered to one recipient — and a $1,400 oxygen facial at The Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills for 25 recipients.

 

The gift bag also provided guests with several wellness offerings including personalized dance and workout sessions from FORWARD__Space worth $25,000, a $15,000 NordicTrack Ultra 1 treadmill and a $935 La Prairie's Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate serum.

The Golden Globes is basically just entertainment programming and the gift baskets are how they pay people to show up and work on the program.  
 

It's a lot, but I'm less concerned about this than the CEOs or billionaire aristocracy who are more or less stealing equity from the working class.

But the thing is, it's so not glamorous in real life. You're running through a fake supermarket, you have to be early and kind of a cheapskate to get the good stuff etc.

ok? no one needs luxury products, services or vacations, but plenty of people want and have the money to pay for them and it's not morally wrong to do so

 

golden globe winners and presenters get these sponsored gift packages because the companies that provide the gifts know that they are their likely clients and are using it as a way to advertise their services to them through comped vacations and cosmetic procedures. and there's nothing wrong with that
