ArtDeco Posted yesterday at 10:28 AM Posted yesterday at 10:28 AM People should have more common sense than not to say stuff like that anyway. The fact that people might get a kick out of saying it just because it's been unbanned is mentally ill. Like where's the respect, I hope this is a wake up call and a big lesson to humanity to never let us get over our heads again using man made platforms that inflict humiliation, greed and hatred just because we can for clout and profit. The term "go touch grass" is just getting more and more realer as the social media "freedom of speech" debate heats up. 1

Reginald Posted yesterday at 11:44 AM Posted yesterday at 11:44 AM (edited) "recent elections" and "a cultural tipping point towards, once again, prioritizing speech." Ffs Zuck should just say he doesn't care, and never did. We all know that Meta's algorithms thrive on negativity, strife, and disagreement. Hatred is Meta's golden goose Edited yesterday at 11:46 AM by Reginald 1
Badgalbriel Posted yesterday at 11:45 AM Posted yesterday at 11:45 AM People need to leave Meta and Twitter for good 2 1
dumbsparce Posted yesterday at 12:28 PM Posted yesterday at 12:28 PM I don't like this. I'd rather know which ones to block than seeing a filtered feed. Preventing someone from "saying it" doesn't mean they've stopped "thinking it" so what's the point? Might as well let them expose themselves.
Vermouth Posted yesterday at 01:29 PM Posted yesterday at 01:29 PM I note Nick Clegg, (ex deputy Prime Minister of the U.K. and leader of the Liberal Democrat Party), who was very high up in Meta (President of Global Affairs) resigned last week. I wonder if this was all connected to Zuckerberg's statement yesterday?
magazine Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Zuck is disappointing me so much Like, I get harvesting personal data for money. I would do it too. But this? I was not expecting him to be like.... that He was on our side. This is much more worrisome 1
Babydoll. Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago ohhh that explains the report i just made being rejected. this **** would be more bearable if u truly could say whatever u want on there. memes get taken down for having the word **** in them lol. small time accounts get deleted bc trolls mass report lgbt people like crazy
nadiamendell Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Yep, this is giving me even more reason to delete social media entirely. It brings absolutely nothing good to society. 1
MattieB Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Protections for black folk will be stripped by year's end, we're well on the way. This what they want
NEX Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I mean I've reported Instagram comments for some of the worst and undeniable hate speech/racism in the past but it report results always came back with "we found nothing wrong with that comment". So this is pretty much business as usual
UnusualBoy Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago The META social networks were already filled with those type of comments so nothing will change.

He's a billionaire sociopath and he's doing exactly what I would expect: bending at the knee to preserve his financial position, regardless of consequences. 1 1

Aethereal Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago at least they are upfront about it. this has always been the case. nobody ever got banned.
Jay07 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago It really does feel like they all threw the hands up and said well, let's just let people be racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, maybe those groups don't deserve to be treated as humans after all. Hate truly won. As someone said, it's so wild that all progress has seemingly been reverted that you have to wonder if it was real progress after all. Is the "cultural tipping point" that people want to use slurs with no repercussions? 1
