DanyelP23 Posted yesterday at 02:50 PM Posted yesterday at 02:50 PM "I heard somewhere, from someone, that there are no contracts. Austin Butler hasn't signed anything to play Patrick Bateman. Luca doesn't have a deal. Scott Burns, who is supposed to write the screenplay, doesn't have a deal either. From various sources that I have, this is just fake news that was put out there to see how an audience is going to react." Radical Pessimism Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM Good. We don't need another movie to empower the incels. 2 1
Valgorie Posted yesterday at 03:30 PM Posted yesterday at 03:30 PM I swear I was told American Psycho was written by a woman, so this was a bit enlightening. That being said, I feel like this does not need to happen. It's giving filmtwt fodder.
Roberto Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM One less Austin Butler movie is always a win.

Also a lot of Luca's artistic choices seem geared towards social media crowd
Aristede Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago This isn't the first time. Dario Argento, Asia Argento, and Daria Nicolodi all 3 dragged Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria remake, but critics and audiences still loved it so I wouldn't let this stop him.
Khal Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago What is going on in the right pic on the first tweet? Is that a screenshot from a video game?

Not tha the original Suspira isn't great, but I consider the remake to be a near-masterpiece. That being said, the original was very thin on plot and subtext so there was a thematic richness to pull out of doing a remake. I can't say the same for a famously textual piece like American Psycho. I would much prefer to see Luca's "Separate Rooms" with Josh O'Connor and Lea Seydoux than this so I hope it isn't happening or will be filmed after.
John Slayne Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Hollywood is so tired, they can't think of an original film? American Psycho is not even that old and the movie is fine as it is
