Except they do this a lot. Doechii is going to serve Esperanza Spalding winning over Drake teas. Sabrina is too established to win, her back catalog will work against her.

Esperanza Spalding is a jazz artist though. How is she comparable to Doechii who is a mainstream rap/pop act? Sometimes acts from traditional genres like jazz can breakthrough the mainstream nominees due to vote splits and/or weak competition (ex: Esperanza Spalding and Samara Joy winning BNA) but that isn't the case this year nor is Doechii likely to benefit from something like that happening since she is very much mainstream pop/hip-hop/r&b like almost all the other nominees. Hip-hop doesn't have the best track record in the GF either. Only 5 hip-hop acts have won BNA.

Agree about Sabrina, she isn't winning BNA despite her success this past year because she isn't new even though the rules allowed her to be nominated.

agree w these sadly, billie wins are predictable and boring. I could see Kendrick taking one of the song categories tho

Taylor's going emptyhanded this year i think

Yeah GRAMMYs aren't going out of their comfort zone. They rarely do. Anyone predicting winners that aren't GRAMMY darlings or typical winners will be disappointed lol.

Kendrick is similar to Beyoncé. He has 17 wins and 57 nominations but no GF wins (I know Bey has a GF win but compared to her nominations they almost never give her the win in the GF). He dominates the rap genre which is where the majority of his wins are from. Humble didn't win ROTY and he lost BNA to Macklemore of all people lmao. He should win but he won't because the GRAMMYs rarely allow hip-hop to pick up wins in the GF despite the genres undeniable impact on mainstream music. It's ridiculous and idk why the GRAMMYs haven't done anything to address this issue.
