lol, such a joke. He did this WAY too late for it to be a meaningful shift in his party's electoral fortunes, and he should ultimately go down as a villain for dooming the liberals just as thoroughly as Joe Biden did here.

American and Canadian liberal leaders beclowning themselves with delusion after delusion. Birds of a feather :bird:

Good lord the Liberals in Canada just tanking their reputation the last couple years.

Good Riddance. He shouldve done this years ago.

The Liberals are cooked either way considering that their current bench is laughable. There's a reason why Trudeau held on for so long

Timothee will play him in a biopic. Mark my words

Again, terrifying times

The state of Canada (and the western world tbh) is quite dire, and right-wingers are only going to exacerbate the problem I fear.

lol this is YEARS too little too late. He lost all remaining credibility during the SNC Lavalin scandal

Wonder how much this treasoner's net worth increased during his tenure

People might see that the grass isn't always greener before 2030 or we're doomed in the west :cm:

im also running out of places to flee from the US. "Under his eye, blessed be the fruit", I guess:deadbanana2:

Honestly deserved. He was nothing but a neoliberal shill selling out the people in favor for the rich and corporate elite while hiding behind identity politics when we know he doesn't give a damn.

now come on, he and the Liberals did some good. legalized marijuana, introduced the Canadian Dental Care Plan, handled Trump 1.0 well, the Carbon Tax (which, despite PP hooping and hollering at how terrible it is, is actually an effective means of combating climate change), handled covid well. But they did everything in their power to protect NIMBYs that the young generation is screwed and cannot afford this country anymore. so they can't be forgiven for that.

in fairness to the Conservative Party of Canada, despite being a party entirely dedicated to the wellbeing of the richest of the rich, their official platform on things like abortion and same sex marriage is to leave it as is.

PP said he would allow people to not practice / accept if it interferes with their culture. He's a piece of ****. :heart2:

Girl, people can't afford rent, groceries and can't get jobs on top of getting bombarded with foreigners with different cultures incompatible with their own which causes drama and conflicts.

It's honestly a joke that huge a*s empty country like Canada cannot build more flats/houses to accommodate the people and lessen the price of rent. :deadbanana2:

Democrats/Liberals need to actually start listening to what the needs of the people are instead of just preaching wokeness and selling themselves as the lesser evil to the right while doing the exact same thing as conservatives: lining the pockets of the elite and making the poor and middle class even poorer/less influential.

People want real solutions to real problems.

Donald Trump attacked Canada again and threatens invasion and annexation within the next months.

According to a national poll last October, new immigrants in Canada are projected to vote like that :

44% for Poilievre (conservative

26% for Trudeau (liberals)

19% for Singh (socialist)

Capture-d-cran-le-2025-01-07-12-24-16.png

So almost half of the new comers in Canada will probably vote for Pierre Poilievre at the next election. So that narrative of white nationalist takeover is kinda false. For sure Poilievre is the most populist Conversative leader in the party history, but his stands on immigration are not radical at all, he's here for immigration but a responsible one. Canadian conservatism rely mostly on economic topics and less on identity ones.
