Just a Gay on ATRL Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Almost all songs, by ANY person of any gender, are about love and relationships. It's what people want to hear about and is a universally understood/felt topic. Do you want pop girls to sing about inflation?
kishi Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Songs about love, relationships and romance are pretty boring and monotonous to me. I appreciate any artist that breaks away from this and can deliver something different.
The7thStranger Posted January 5 Posted January 5 It's flat because we've heard the same perspectives on romantic love and sex over and over again. Try looking more into the indie, bands, or the counter-culture space. In the pop realm, Björk has a lot of songs about things other than love, including nature, technology, living life/youth, motherhood, fear, friendship, etc. Rina sings a lot about heritage and identity. It's out there if you look. ;-)
