Also it's more than apparent he wants to be in the good graces of Trump. He weighed the public outcry VS the years of Trump administration ie of that orange turd will leave after 4 years, and went for it. 

He deffo wants something implemented in his/apple's favor in the future and this is the best way to do it.

Though you can also see by this kind of reports how selective activism is. 

 

You don't hear any antitrump artist pulling their music from Apple music so far or reports they want their episode of x or y to be removed.

 

Had this been a beverage company or sports brand,  you probably would have seen reports about acts/entertainers wanting to end sponsorships or brand deals etc.

 

And like others said, there are no ethical bilionaires or ethical capitalism, but it also shows how 'depended' certain industries are, that they all just go on with their day.

Tim Cook knows it's harder for people to turn their backs on Apple. Nobody is dependent on a drink, you could make the argument that people are now dependent on their devices. Apple is a private company offering what is essentially a utility. Puts them into a whole different category, unfortunately. This is also why Microsoft, Google, and Meta get away with harvesting and weaponizing user data.
