Unfortunately, all the (minimal) chances she had for a successful comeback were ruined after "Woman's World." It's like she's completely on "Teenage Dream Code," trying to make it big, but with all the controversies that happened... it makes it really hard.

Reading comprehension is fundamental. I said she cannot make a single right career move or decent song. I'm clearly aware she's done stuff to be where she is, I'm saying logically with all the resources she has there is no reason she should have made any of those choices.

It just proves how plastic she is in her approach to music. She has no true musical identity or skill in production, composition or songwriting. Let's admit that Bonnie McKee and Max Martin were the masterminds helping shape Katy's appeal. Without them, she has no true prowess. If she did, she would have at least cultivated some appeal within critic circles or award committees by now.

 

She lacks the swagger of Rihanna, the versatility of Beyoncé, the songwriting detail of Taylor, and the multi-instrumentalist talent of Shakira. To me, it never came as a surprise. She's a one trick pony and even her one trick was proven to be a fluke by design.

 

OT: Sorry, but I'm still left wondering why Katy stans have so much fervor for an artist so bland, generic, and limited in diversifying her music style in 2025. Choosing to work with Dr. Luke, who is known for plucking samples out of other artists shamelessly, and not Max Martin, who is a master in his craft for great pop hooks and melodies, will always confuse me. And them attempting to drag Kesha. who is leagues above Katy in all aspects, is hilarious.

I do wonder how this era would have gone if she released I'm His, He's Mine as the lead... still with Doechii, but with a different producer. The song and the video could have gotten some attention. She was insane for the WW release.
