Stepfon Posted Friday at 12:15 AM Posted Friday at 12:15 AM Interstellar has just proven that breaking the $200 million mark at the domestic box office wasn't just possible, it was necessary. The hugely successful IMAX re-release of the film, which was the largest in the history of the premium large format company. Not bad for a limited re-release. Combined with actual box office from the weekend, and today's ticket hauls means the movie will finally cross the $200 million mark at the domestic office, a decade after it first released in theaters. At the time, Interstellar didn't have the most outstanding reviews, but in the ten years that have passed, critics have reconsidered views and it's now seen as one of Nolan's most ambitious and affecting works, with the scale of the film, the cinematography, Hans Zimmer's score and the performances of the cast drawing praise. The movie can also be streamed on Netflix now. x
Park Jinyoung Posted Friday at 01:09 AM Posted Friday at 01:09 AM could not pay me to watch that tidal wave scene on imax
Roberto Posted Friday at 01:18 AM Posted Friday at 01:18 AM This didn't cross 200 million domestically before? How?
dumbsparce Posted Friday at 02:37 AM Posted Friday at 02:37 AM I was today years old when I found out that the original wasn't showered with praise and didn't gross over 2 billion dollars. How?? Its presence in pop culture is way bigger than its stats would suggest. 7
Minto Posted Friday at 03:37 AM Posted Friday at 03:37 AM the dialogue in this movie is actually painful to get through but it's so visually stunning….it's deffo a cinema type of movie as opposed to streaming at home

I don't recall! I do remember Wes Bentley in it during one scene.

Nolan is a good director but a shoddy writer. Yes, because a NASA astronaut on a spaceship heading for a wormhole would need a quick explaination of what a wormhole is. It's clearly for the benefit of the audience who Nolan apparently thinks is stupid. 1
Digitalism Posted Friday at 12:10 PM Posted Friday at 12:10 PM I mean it's a mid movie like most of Nolan's but It's incel's favorite so not surprised
