This is the theory I've always run with.

 

Without the depression the return to alcoholism wouldn't have accelerated so quickly and I don't think the dementia would've come on so quickly.

I know that she's human and deserves empathy but man it's difficult to empathize with someone who was nasty and vile towards others (especially in their low moments) on her platform as she was (even when she did acknowledge it when she started going through things herself). The only reason the gays love her is because she was as messy as they are. I hope that she'll get the necessary care she needs though.
