Some of these people are indeed hackers but I think you'd be surprised at how lazy some artists are when it comes to security. People storing all sorts in open cloud folders with no passwords

Yes, they were all old scrapped songs she wasn't going to do anything with anyway. And only pop music enthusiasts are going to listen to them so no damage is done to her brand.

No offense but stuff has been leaking from artists for decades now.  At this point, if they still have no way to prevent it, it is on them and the industry.

 

Also after all this time, I can get the 'frustration' but artists and labels should use it in their benefit.

Off topic but let me find out if Disco Sweat is actually lying around fully mastered somewhere. Because if it's just a matter of uploading to streaming and they make it clear this is a for-the-fans by demand kind of thing, I feel like it wouldn't be that unrealistic? The label would be open to it I feel. Although if Carly herself doesn't want it out there is prob zero chance it gets put out. 604 really respects artists vision and don't meddle with the music.
