Interesting he thought that. I personally don't see it, but ya Ciara was done so wrong by the labels during this time

I remember loving that album and Love Sex & Magic def should have NOT been the lead.

Girl, no. I like(d) High Price but that song is grating and would not cross over.

We can get a (faint) idea of the standouts looking at the Spotify streams and High Price isn't even top 5 on the album

1- Like a Surgeon: 1.28M

2- Lover's Thing - 1.17M

3- Keep Dancin' On Me - 1.15M

4- Turntables - 1.11M

5- Ciara to the Stage - 750k

The same songs are top 5 on YouTube streams, in a different order. High Price isn't even close.

Not sure any song on Fantasy Ride was a smash. Some could have been cute hits if Go Girl hadn't sunk the whole era. Whoever picked that to be Ciara's comeback song amid Rihanna's GGGB and Beyonce's IASF doomed her. But then again a large part of her base was against her going pop so the album was mostly doomed from the get-go

Yeah the biggest issue is people being against Ciara going pop (not to mention she lost her audience to Keri Hilson at that time)

I LOVED this track (and the album in general) but it did not sound like a hit

Even if this had an iconic video, it would have been top 40 at best. The song is NOT good and has aged horribly :biblio: it should be a sin that they are comparing this to Single Ladies & Umbrella
