Instead the Arianators threatened us lambs. Do I smell a future feud? They are just joking sis. We know that nothing will come close to Mariah's classic.

Sia's Snowman and Justin's Mistletoe are also charting this year. They have been very beloved so far too. So happy for Ariana & Kelly! wish RCA (Kelly's former label) would invest in it a bit like Ariana's team did with the vinyls, CDs, cassettes, discounting the song on iTunes and re-servicing it to radio. Look at the difference is made. Both Kelly and Ariana were neck and neck before all that. Still proud of Kelly for doing that without all of the extra push/promotion
Stuart Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 AIWFCIY spending its 18th week at #1 and STM entering the Top 5, OMG 3
Capruni Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 The incredible surprise this christmas season was "Santa Tell Me" reach #5. This song is amazing and deserves reach #1 in the future… 2

I'm half joking but when I say Christmas staple I mean a legit Christmas carol like Jingle Bell Rock, Rocking Around The Christmas Tree, Frosty The Snowman, Silver Bells, Last Christmas, etc. All I Want For Christmas Is You was the first "pop girl" song to join those and truly cement itself as a modern Christmas carol. Santa Tell Me isn't there yet, but it's getting close! Underneath The Tree would definitely be the second closest but I don't think it's nearly as well known as STM. Snowman and Mistletoe - no, sorry.
Ger Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Santa Smash Me #5??? Whaaat, THE Santa Smash Me?? Omg, this is such the perfect ending for an incredible year for Ariana, so well deserved. 1
Rv1709 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Kelly would peak higher if her old label invested in UTT the way Ariana's label is pushing STM

pride4jc1222 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 In bold are some records Elton set that Taylor Swift (or any other artist) will never touch. Elton John Notches 60th Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 Hit With Ed Sheeran Collaboration 'Merry Christmas' 12/30/2024 By Gary Trust As holiday hits decorate the Billboard Hot 100's entire top 10, and top 16, spots for the first time, another seasonal song, among others, makes a notable jolly jaunt: Ed Sheeran and Elton John's "Merry Christmas" jingles four places to No. 38, marking its first week in the chart's top 40 – and John's milestone 60th top 40 hit and Sheeran's likewise landmark 25th. The team-up, which Sheeran and John co-wrote, was released in 2021 and first peaked at No. 42 a year later. In the Dec. 20-26 tracking week, the song drew 20.2 million official streams (up 38%) and 2.8 million in radio airplay audience (up 25%) and sold 2,000 (up 59%) in the United States, according to data tracker Luminate. Notably, John ties Beyoncé for the ninth-most top 40 Hot 100 hits, dating to the chart's Aug. 4, 1958, start. Most Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 Hits: 206, Drake 165, Taylor Swift 89, Lil Wayne 81, Elvis Presley (whose career predates the Hot 100's inception) 78, Kanye West 74, Nicki Minaj 72, Future 63, Eminem 60, Beyoncé 60, Elton John 57, Kendrick Lamar 55, Travis Scott John first reached the Hot 100's top 40 on the chart dated Dec. 19, 1970, when "Your Song" jumped 49-38. He appeared in the top 40 every year consecutively through 1999 – linking a record 30-year streak in the tier – and returned with his 58th and 59th entries in 2021 and 2022, respectively: "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)," with Dua Lipa (No. 7 peak), and "Hold Me Closer," with Britney Spears (No. 6). (From 1972 through 1986, John charted 36 consecutive Hot 100 hits in the top 40. The run included 20 top 10s, of 29 in his career, and seven No. 1s, of his nine total.) Plus, John extends the longest span of top 40 Hot 100 appearances for a soloist excluding holiday fare to 54 years and two weeks. Among all acts and backing out seasonal songs, The Beatles boast the longest span: 59 years, nine months and three weeks, from "I Want To Hold Your Hand" in 1964 through "Now and Then" in 2023. While these bolded records are impressive, I'd note a couple things about the first two: Taylor, since you mentioned her, has (if I'm looking at things right) already appeared in the top forty of the Billboard Hot 100 in every year since 2007, for 18 consecutive years thus far. This one honestly just depends on whether she keeps releasing consistently - I don't see her being unable to reach the top forty with just about whatever she wants in 12 years. In terms or just chart entries, it seems unlikely for any artist to get to 36 consecutive top forty hits due to album tracks being eligible to chart now, though I do believe that Olivia Rodrigo effectively had a streak of 23 since all her standard edition tracks from two albums made it. She shows that it's at least theoretically possible. In terms of just fully-promoted singles, however, I think it's more feasible for some artist to get there eventually. It's also possible that in the future, the current trend of behemoth albums and the extreme popularity of an individual artist converge such that some artist manages to get 36 or more of the top forty in just one week; right now, the record for simultaneous top forty hits is held by Taylor, with 26. The last one as a longevity record is just impossible to really forecast - it could very well stand forever.
LustSpell Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Santa Homewreck Me the utter smash you are Arianaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Underneath The JESUStree getting its just desserts too I hope it reaches top five. These two songs are the '10s Christmas classics. Kelly and Ariana won so hard. 1
