David's old work is incredible but there's something about his latest that can feel a bit uninspired to me, or as though he is more-so doing it only because he was asked. This concept could fit for a lot of people's aesthetic but on a lot of his former shoots (which are still so heavily referenced in pop culture), it felt like they were perfect for that individual celebrity solely. With that said it isn't surprising newer artists want a piece of the pie in an attempt to build their own legacy.

There is nothing wrong with an artist like Chapelle reusing his past ideas for new clients. She looks great and this cover looks fab, I don't know why members of this site are acting like this is bad or uninspired (if you know the reference you would get it). if this was Megan or Cardi, y'all would be loving lesbehonest.

 

Personally, going by the outfit, Ice looks better and more complementary to the surrounding items than Megan.

i agree and feel validated that someone else feels the same way. it's not like it's completely terrible but i've noticed his work has been very middling for a while now, i guess when you have an iconic portfolio from the golden era of fashion/celebrity culture it obviously wouldn't compare with now, but the quality decline is wild. it seems like most of his shoots lack the depth he used to capture so effortlessly

LaChapelle truly fell off. Out of his recent work i only liked the Charli shoot. Meg and Ice's covers were trash and uninspired, i didn't like Doja's Planet Her cover at all, JADE's Fantasy video was nothing special...

if it was for the self titled era at all I'm pretty shocked bc I thought that was supposed to be all her creative vision, maybe that's why it was scrapped though
