MattieB Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I was wondering why it didn't turn but didn't see the wheels. Omg. RIP
Namie-Knowles Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Yeah plane crashes are pretty much a 100% fatality rate every time. I can't believe this, RIP to the victims and I hope the family can grieve properly. 1
Buffy Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 The landing gear wasn't deployed, which is weird. I read even if the hydraulics failed, they could still deploy with gravity. There were no flaps either to slow down the plane. Lots of issues happened here. The wall was what ultimately doomed them. 3
Princess Aurora Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 OMG That's scary. May they rest in peace
helpthomas Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 i'm super scared of flying and i'm going for a solo trip to Japan, in a Boeing, in February... peeing myself rn 1
Daddy Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Do not fly any Boeing. They are dangerous and don't give a **** about security. This is why I don't fly anymore. Quality is going down the drain. 5

(Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). But still, the video is completely horrifying and I cannot begin to imagine how terrified everyone must have been. 1
Bad Decisions Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Stories like this is honestly why I keep my travelling to a minimum these days. I only ever just travel for work and that's it. Freaks me out too much
visions Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 That's awful, RIP to everyone. I'm flying tonight, I wish I hadn't opened ATRL

Johnny Jacobs Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Rip. That's heartbreaking. Seeing the video, i don't understand how can anyone without superhuman powers would survive this. But at least they did. I just canceled my trip to Rome. The video really upset me. I am not going on any plane anytime soon.

It's very normal to reflect on current issues onto yourself 🥴 especially if it's in the very near future. Would you not be worried about a future plane trip after reading about the ******* 9 plane crashes this year?
Genius1111 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 7 days of national mourning declared. I guess all the large scale New Year's Eve celebrations will be cancelled.

RIP to all the deceased passengers and crew. This particular plane is like 10+ years old. Has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Also this isn't the same type as the MAX aircraft that had issues / were grounded a few years back.

LittleStarmen Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 feels like the pilot didnt perform the correct emergency procedurws

That isn't the stat for plane crashes where the plane truly crashes. Rough landings, water landings, and the like there odds of death aren't as high even if it's not the best. For example if the plane in the video had stopped before hitting the wall that wouldn't be a plane crash. But when it hit the wall it became a plane crash and in those everyone dies nearly 100% of the time.
Park Jinyoung Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) the two survivors were crew members. my first thought is that it could be the two crew in the jump seats on the very back of the plane. if so, that's incredible. Edited December 29, 2024 by Park Jinyoung

Kinda. I live in Berlin - I only take the subway when I see friends but I can walk to work and the various supermarkets and event spaces around me. I never take Ubers and I only take the train to see my parents.
MatiRod Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Horrifying. With how plane was just obliterated like you see in the video, it's insane that two people actually survived that (and it sounds like without life altering injuries).
Symmetra Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 The wheels should have been able to deploy under there own weight in case of loss of engine power. Unless they simply didn't have enough time to deploy them.
