Yes, but the first one was intentionally shot down by Russia. It was not a real crash.

The smoke implies some sort of mechanical failure/issue. Almost as if they had picked up speed to take off or were landing and the engines blew up and they weren't able to stop in time. RIP to those passengers.

BBC is reporting two people have been rescued living, and 28 have been confirmed dead at this point

The landing gear didn't come down and they slide on the belly of the plane. It didn't stop in time and hit the barrier at the end of the runway that stops planes from going off the runway and likely hitting traffic if there is a highway on the other side

They speculated that the plane met a bird strike so the pilot team could not activate the landing gear. They did not land and made a second round to decide to land on the plane's belly but failed. 179 dead. 2 survived, one of them is a fight attendant and he is almost fine with some injuries on 1 of his shoulders and his head.

 

Also a passenger texted his/her family member a few moments before the crash saying that the plane got into a problem and could not land well, "am I going to die, should I say my final prayers"... 

 

So sad.
