Radical Pessimism Posted yesterday at 10:55 AM Posted yesterday at 10:55 AM Tim Allen recently told that he completed his "first five-hour [recording] session for Buzz" Lightyear's return in Disney and Pixar's upcoming "Toy Story 5." "It's a very, very clever story," Allen teased of the upcoming fifth installment. "Do you wanna do five of these? I don't really believe it's about the money. I'm sure they want it to be a success, but that's not why they did it. Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn't have done it and they wouldn't have called me and Tom [Hanks]. It's really clever." "Toy Story 5" is scheduled for release on June 19, 2026 from Disney. x 5
Hexchromatica Posted yesterday at 11:01 AM Posted yesterday at 11:01 AM It's the fifth film, it's a cash grab 2 1
velocity Posted yesterday at 11:20 AM Posted yesterday at 11:20 AM of course it's a cash grab, it should have ended when andy gave the toys to the little girl. the story is done 6
Helix Posted yesterday at 11:22 AM Posted yesterday at 11:22 AM what else did we expect him to say? that it's bad and he wants to scrap it? (am still gonna watch it tho) 1
Weld_E Posted yesterday at 11:29 AM Posted yesterday at 11:29 AM It's probably a mix of both. The studio pushed them to do a fifth one and they were able to come up with a really good script about toys vs iPads. I am very curious to see how they tackle this issue from the perspective of the toys. 1
Gui Blackout Posted yesterday at 11:49 AM Posted yesterday at 11:49 AM It could end up being a good movie, but it is a cash grab
Elementary Posted yesterday at 11:55 AM Posted yesterday at 11:55 AM I mean after Mufasa and Snow White drain Disney's savings for the next 5 years they're going to make sure this one is a success 1
HASHTAGPOW Posted yesterday at 12:09 PM Posted yesterday at 12:09 PM I agree. If it's a cash grab, it would've been a live action.
Squall Posted yesterday at 12:11 PM Posted yesterday at 12:11 PM It's the best animated movie franchise, better than those awful current Disney releases so it's all good.
alexrex Posted yesterday at 12:17 PM Posted yesterday at 12:17 PM (edited) I saw the fourth one, but by now this whole franchise is pointless. Same with Shrek and Despicable Me. (And a cash grab) Edited yesterday at 12:18 PM by alexrex 2

Just a Gay on ATRL Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Well you'll have to prove that to the audience when the film comes out, sister!
FlyOnTheWall Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I'm somewhat hopeful for this one because the fourth one was GOD AWFUL and they have so many things to retcon

Buffy Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Tom Hanks? Isn't he currently battling dementia? Is he going to be voice acting for this?
livelikemusic Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago And I still have not seen Toy Story 4. My timeline stopped at Toy Story 3, and I think that's where I'd like for it to stay stopped.
