Radical Pessimism Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra recently told the Los Angeles Times that "Kraven the Hunter" is "probably the worst launch we had" in the nearly eight years he's been at the studio, adding: "I still don't understand, because the film is not a bad film." - "Kraven" opened in theaters Dec. 13 to a paltry $11 million, the lowest debut yet for a Sony-released Marvel movie. - "Madame Web" flopped with $100 million worldwide. - "Venom: The Last Dance" became the franchise's lowest-grossing entry. "Let's just touch on 'Madame Web' for a moment," Vinciquerra said. "'Madame Web' underperformed in the theaters because the press just crucified it. It was not a bad film, and it did great on Netflix. For some reason, the press decided that they didn't want us making these films out of 'Kraven' and 'Madame Web,' and the critics just destroyed them. They also did it with 'Venom,' but the audience loved 'Venom' and made 'Venom' a massive hit. These are not terrible films. They were just destroyed by the critics in the press, for some reason." x

I Am Music Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Guess it's easier to blame the media than their own shortcomings and just make these movies to keep the license instead of focusing on a good product. 1
Daddy Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago He needs to lose his job when he thinksnthose were good
Musicmajor Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I will never understand why people/organizations pretend something is not true...when it is lol. This doesn't serve them any good to pretend like these were not horrible films (they were). Continue being delulu, I am SURE that will be a great benefit for your company & your future projects!
Fav Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Well I blame them for creating this mid movie... I don't need critics to recognize a FLOP when I see one...
Jglj Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Did he watch Madame Web? The movie was so bad that people speculated it was an AI script.
BlazingLovatic Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago If he is seriously that delusional, he has no business working for a movie studio Madame Web could've been written better if it was made by chat gpt lol
glitch Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago America is sleeping, gift for the fans, buzz single, surprise release, no promo, no playlisting, it would be #1 if not for the 50 songs above it, the views have been frozen, it was too ahead of its time, arts not the charts, sold out on itunes 8
mathekr Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) it's crazy to me that someone can green light these many consecutive bombs, be this delusional about why they bombed and still keep their job Edited 15 hours ago by mathekr 1
Gui Blackout Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago "It's not a bad film, it did great on Netflix" really isn't the defense you think it is… 2
Gojira Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Madame Web felt like a pilot for a WB series similar to Birds of Prey.

vuelve88 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Note that he never says any of them are great or amazing films… just that they are not "bad".

Elementary Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago "It did well on Netflix" is he aware of the quality of the content that "does well on Netflix"?
Dolce Vita Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago i need this man to be serious. he really looked at the final cut of madame web with dakota johnson of all people leading it, and thought "this is a movie that will sell". girl 1
Bhabylon Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago They're never going to improve if they refuse to see there's a product in the movies they make
Ewan Chaos Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Not the Netflix excuse As if the only reason people were watching the movie was to laugh at how bad it was without paying money for it
