BBC: Katy's comeback, Joker 2 biggest flops of 2024

Katy's always outstreaming Beyonce, THAT little things it's not that important at all

Compare Cowboy Carter to 14303 and we'll see how that plays out. We're talking about NEW releases here. Rush has 400m streams and Woman's World has 50m (they're label mates). Even if you did math to average out the calendar release of both songs Troye's album is about to pass 1b streams with a year difference, and that's just on Spotify. We can compare them considering they're from the same label and Troye has MUCH less access to producers and A&R than Katy. Now as for Beyonce, CC may have peaked earlier but Texas Hold Em alone has like triple the streams of the entirety 14303'd so, like I said, lets keep other's names out of our mouths. Let's focus on streaming 1432 and the acclaimed song 'Ok' instead of talking about people who are actually doing well.

Oh monster, keep your "let's do what I'm saying" for  you.

I said back and I'll keep repeating: IN STREAMING IT'S MONSTROUSLY NORMAL ONLY ONE SONG WITH HIGH INVESTMENT OUTSTREAMING AN WHOLE ALBUM WITHOUT IT.

it's simple, I gave a lot of examples. But once more for you that's pretending not see: Taste (the weakest single out of SNS) outstreamed C XOXO by Camila, simply because that single has more time in tth's and amazing playlist investiment than the whole Camila's album, whose any song was #1 tth's or came close to it like Taste.

And like that one there are infinite examples.

And of course Texas hold em has 3x streams out of 143, once more?

Texas hold em? #1 tth's and a good run there

1432? Any OUT OF 15 SONGS touched tth's or a decent range.

Ed Sheeran is the biggest example, with investment he smashed in streams, it was only he not getting investiment in his two last álbuns, that any hit song has more streams than them.

But if you all wanna keep repeating the same COMMON thing that happens not only to Katy, but to anyone, just keep going on.

2025 is gonna be an interesting year.

Gaga will pull better numbers with her album, and the other one will release a remix album to try to save her flop era and she will still be in the bottom of the ocean.

Little monsters will get the last laugh I fear

We're getting the first laugh too I'm afraid :rip:  Gaga still hasn't flopped as bad as Witness, let alone Smile, let alone 143 :skull:

The general public does not make rankings to decide what popgirl is bigger/better :rip:

They have no freaking idea what song is flopping and what song is smashing. They only think something might be successful if they hear it often on TV/Radio/clubs.

And as other people have already said it, there is a real lack of interest for both women's (own) projects.

Agreed in all

The way Monsters keep using 'Die with a collab' as testimony of anything when that woman is barely on the song and her part is so generic it's barely memorable.

Katy and Britney might be in the same boat of irrelevance

Britney published a New York Times Bestseller, remained a fixture on the news, and had an entire awards show pay homage to her (MTV VMAs 2024). She is NOT on the same boat as Katy whose entire album is being outstreamed by a flop single of a peer (Gaga) and public image is at its lowest. This is her nadir :rip:

Britney has been retired for like 6 years and she never hurt anyone, keep her name out your mouth.

And the woman you stan, based on your profile pic, who collaborated with a big name artist, even needed to release a "More" version to hear her, yet you are here talking about "barely on the song" and "her part is so generic" and "barely memorable".

@Smarticle should've been on this list considering he's both big and a flop. now he's a double flop :dies: goes nicely with that double chin

Can you stop name dropping Britney in threads that are completely unrelated to her? The obsession is insane. Go spend some time with your loved ones or something.

OMG you don't say. I kind of get the non-stop Katy comparisons since she's GaGa's closest competition but what does Britney have to do with it? So confusing.

Well technically they are saying J2:FAD is a flop not gaga so I dont understand why y'all keep saying Gaga is a flop

I couldn't care less about Britney, though I do wish her well and sympathize with her

Sure, dear. Is that the reason why anyone who disagrees with you is, let me quote you, "another dupe stanning the same early 2000s relic"? Oh, but there's more.

Oh they are not a swiftie, trust me, they stan a certain other girlie who was last relevant in 2007 and not cuz of her music.

And more:

Most of the people fuming in this topic are all stans of a pop girlie who peaked 24 years ago :rip:

I could go on and on.

OGH getting their favs dragged..? What's your point :skull:  That you should be able to drag Gaga without your favs catching strays? Awh, don't make that face now sis :hughard:

OT: JFAD bombed so hard :skull: It's lowkey iconic!

That's cute but I was talking about you not "caring about Britney", "wishing her well" and then obsessively talking about her non-stop, even when she's absolutely irrelevant to the topic being discussed. You do realize that's the opposite of "not caring"?

Oh it's not really Gaga's year. I feel bad for her. :sistrens:

But…this thread is about both Gaga and Katy, yet you feel bad for Gaga…even when she got a #1 smash song?
How do you feel about Katy then? :rip:

Edit: saw you finally changes the title OP. Lemme get serious.

KATY needs to retire.

Gaga needs a new agent for film.

I'm surprised Camila isn't on here

someone prob responded to this already, but there have to be high expectations for something to not meet them and be a flop
