Sofia Carson gets second smash-hit Netflix movie in a row with "Carry-On"

Sofia Carson's new Netflix movie Carry-On came out on December 13. It's an action thriller that stars Taron Egerton, Danielle Deadwyler and Jason Bateman alongside Carson and is seeing a considerable amount of success, shaping up to be one of the biggest Netflix movies of 2024.

It's the second movie Sofia did with Netflix, the first one being Purple Hearts, a romantic drama that she also recorded a soundtrack to. Similarly to Carry-On, Purple Hearts was successful as well, topping various Netflix charts upon its release; it also allowed Sofia to find a little bit of success in music as well, as the movie's theme song Come Back Home garnered more than 100 milion streams on Spotify.

Contrary to Purple Hearts which has received generally negative reviews, Carry-On seems to be much more liked among critics (88% on Rotten Tomatoes and 68 on Metacritic as of now), which is impressive considering Netflix productions are usually more likely to be critically panned than praised. Other than that, Sofia Carson is also working on two more Netflix movies: The Life List and My Oxford Year.

What do you think of Sofia Carson's acting career? Did she make the right move to start working with Netflix? What is it that makes her the current MNG (Main Netflix Girl)? Is she a streaming elixir?

While we discuss Sofia's acting, let's not forget about her music and stream this BOP :-*

Her lack of emotion and facial movement was distracting.

Sure, let's pretend this movie is a "hit" because of her.
