I don't understand why she felt this way listening to her live, she definitely doesn't use autotune. 

She's talking about award show perfomances. There was the infamous Grammy performance with the piano, and im pretty sure there was another one that was kind of a trainwreck too.

 

We know for a fact those performances had a lot of issues outside of her control, and how much better she can do, but if those are her only references to how Adele sounds live vs. on the record, it seems logical to reach that conclusion i fear.

Ok but what's wrong if she used autotune? She could use a lil help to not wreck her voice due to overusage while on tour... Not every vocalist is equipped to be singing every note live many days per week.
