If I had to deal with one of the most greedy nations in the history of mankind (the United Kingdom of Colonialism) I'd be on the right side of history too.

Because the US and UK have the special relationship. So they are pretty much largely the same on foreign policy.

Ireland is still occupied in the north.

Colonialism and apartheid is not something so far distant in the past that we can forget the oppression (see USA)

The troubles only ended in 1998. The IRA were "terrorists" to most of the western world too.

They're still giving huge tax breaks to multinational 'evil' corporations, but good to know that at least they've taken steps to support human rights. I suppose this is as 'good' as a country can get, given how many others, like the US and Israel, are deeply corrupt and morally devoid societies that perpetuate harm and injustice.

Do they though? Maybe in the 80s, but not so much nowadays tbh.

No, they still do. The US and UK have the tightest foreign policy as they are still close allies. For example, they both allow each other to spy on each other's citizens. They share military equipment. With the UK being the US main military contractor.

There was a reason why France did not want the UK in the EU. It would give the US too much influence. And why the UK leaving the EU hampered US influence in that aspect. But Russia invading Ukraine circumnavigated that.
