They have created one of the most effective retention algorithms in human history, using certain words (mind you we aren't talking about slurs, we're literally talking about people replacing words like "murder" and "kill") does not change anything about the way the system ingests and pushes a video to a wider audience. People that use the platform for their income suggest otherwise. Plenty of content creators that are not remotely PC still use these terms. Unless the algorithm is open source, we can’t say anything with confidence. 2 hours ago, dumbsparce said: I do put it on them bc there's a million different ways they could get their message through without using these pg13 terms and still manage to bypass the filters. It's a sign they lack intellect if they're willing to say out loud these cringe terms, therefore they're not worth of my subscription. Also, at what point do these new terms become the ones that trigger people? If "kill" causes a negative reaction then "unalive" must too bc they literally have the same meaning. It's an endless cycle of complete nonsense. The fact you’re this bothered by some basic slang to bypass concerns of censorship is sad. These words aren’t used to avoid triggering people, so your entire complaint is misplaced. Frankly, a better demonstration of intellect is not caring about “cringe” language this much. 1
americanlife Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago "Unalive" doesn't bother me at this point. But when they start calling a gun "pew pew" 2
Katamari Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago It's annoying and weird but it's not that big of deal so
Mezter Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Yes, so I guess there's some good in TikTok being banned...
cuteboyzay Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I mean yes, but we kinda have to use it. If you don't use censor words like that the comments/content you post will either be deleted or you'll receive a warning on social media. Meaning your account will also be affected too. It's annoying af and I hate it too lmao! But it's just something we have to do now if we don't want our accounts on social media affected by it.

Uhm girl, specific words DO trigger suppression. As someone who makes money off of TikTok and makes content, it can SEVERELY hurt your income if you don't use censor words. Let's say use the actual "R*pe" word. Your viewership will be cut down by 2/3rds and the likelihood of hundreds of thousands of people not seeing your video is INCREDIBLY high. It can make it break your video, and the AI that TikTok uses is incredibly sensitive and will block/remove anything even vaguely negative. Or it won't put it on the FYP at aalll, and won't show it to any of your followers. Edited 11 hours ago by cuteboyzay 2
