Why does the TMZ article try and say the film flopped? It did very well.

I noticed this as well. it was extremely successful. One of the biggest successes for those smaller budget films.

If he's guilty, jail him!

If not I hope she sets herself up for good.

Some of y'all are so quick to take sides with 0 proof from either side. And it's always against the person you don't like :rip:

Justin always looked full of himself to me and Blake is such a lousy actress that I have no idea how she's still getting cast.

'We Can Bury Anyone': Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine

RBOLb0N.png

Quote

Last summer, as the release of "It Ends With Us" approached, Justin Baldoni, the director and a star of the film, and Jamey Heath, the lead producer, hired a crisis public relations expert. During shooting, Blake Lively, the co-star, had complained that the men had repeatedly violated physical boundaries and made sexual and other inappropriate comments to her. Their studio, Wayfarer, agreed to provide a full-time intimacy coordinator, bring in an outside producer and put other safeguards on set.

Quote

But by August, the two men, who had positioned themselves as feminist allies in the #MeToo era, expressed fears that her allegations would become public and taint them, according to a legal complaint that she filed Friday. It claims that their P.R. effort had an explicit goal: to harm Ms. Lively's reputation instead. Her filing includes excerpts from thousands of pages of text messages and emails that she obtained through a subpoena. These and other documents were reviewed by The New York Times.

Quote

The documents show an additional playbook for waging a largely undetectable smear campaign in the digital era. "He wants to feel like she can be buried," a publicist working with the studio and Mr. Baldoni wrote in an Aug. 2 message to the crisis management expert, Melissa Nathan. "You know we can bury anyone," Ms. Nathan wrote.

Quote

In the following weeks, Ms. Nathan, whose clients have included Johnny Depp and the rappers Drake and Travis Scott, went hard at the press, pushing to prevent stories about Mr. Baldoni's behavior and reinforce negative ones about Ms. Lively, the text messages show ... This year, after a decade at the New York consultancy Hiltzik Strategies, Ms. Nathan started her own firm, TAG PR. Its majority stakeholder is a company run by the entertainment industry executive Scooter Braun.

Quote

Ms. Nathan soon floated proposals to hire contractors to dominate social media through "full social account takedowns," by starting "threads of theories" and generally working to "change narrative." "All of this will be most importantly untraceable," she wrote. When Ms. Abel wrote to her Aug. 4 that "I'm having reckless thoughts of wanting to plant pieces this week of how horrible Blake is to work with. Just to get ahead of it," Ms. Nathan replied that she had spoken off the record to an editor at The Daily Mail.

Quote

Many articles made it seem as if the only rift was over creative control. Some journalists had gotten wind of complaints about Mr. Baldoni's behavior, but none of the most serious ones were published. "He doesn't realise how lucky he is right now," Ms. Nathan texted Ms. Abel.

Quote

By mid-August, the team was reveling in the damage to Ms. Lively's image.
Nathan: "Narrative is CRAZY good ... The majority of socials are so pro Justin and I don't even agree with half of them lol"

Read the full article here. It only gets more damning as you keep reading :dies:

She is not a victim in any way, things didn't go the way she wanted, they went on a PR war which she lost and now she wants to blame somebody so now going the legal route.

She's just bitter about the PR campaign, he probably is guilty of that but he didn't do it out of nowhere, she's fired shots first.

Adding "sexual harassment" to the suit is more of an afterthought to make it seem more serious and her a victim. Which is such a low blow, domestic abuse or sexual abuse victims can't even get a word in much less justice legally yet this entitled brat decides to add it in to her tantrum.

Now I really ain't getting into this ****. Moment she though a plantation field where my people were raped, tortured, enslaved, and going through unspeakable horrors for hundreds of years was a quirky cute wedding venue I don't really give a ****. Harriet wouldn't want me crying and kissing the feet of this White woman being her champion White Knight. So imma just stand to the side and watch this **** unfold with my popcorn bucket.

Nobody is going to cast her now, who would want somebody who throws their spoon into the planned recipe, throws a tantrum if she doesn't get her way then sues them.

What a waste of money. She does an excellent job of smearing herself, though this article must have cost her a pretty penny.

I hope these allegations are true. I feel like people had moved on but now it's all coming back up. She feels she'll be redeemed after this lawsuit but I cannot think of the fallout if she loses this case. Smear campaigns are only aggressive public relations at the end of the day. She also ran one against him straight out the gate. Hiring Johnny Depp's firm was the only thing that saved him. I'm sure the courts will ask for receipts on the tactics of her team during the trial. What a mess.

I'm not a Blake Lively fan and I've no doubt that she unpleasant to work with but the allegations in the lawsuit are concerning. If Baldoni was showing porn to her and talking about his sex addiction, I can see why she filed this suit.

Yeah that is...wild. The fact that she held a meeting with executives/directors too like...

Didn't everyone from the movie unfollow the guy + he hired a Depp lawyer a few months ago right before promotion for the movie began?

but is Justin Baldoni really powerful enough to go against a nepo baby and her powerful husband Ryan Reynolds?

The PR executives he hired are powerful enough. That's the whole premise of the article.

I'm glad I didn't cape for this man. I knew there was something fishy when NOT A SINGLE ONE of his costars came to his defense and they were all on Blake's side.

He sounds terrible and the things he was doing on set are disgusting. Then tried to make himself the victim by using the Internet to rally against someone that is unlikable but that doesn't negate his crappy behavior.
