Two things can be true at once. It's clear there was some bad blood behind the scenes, but at the same time Blake's promo run for this movie was a tone-deaf disaster and she did herself no favors. And much of the trashing she got publicly was from people digging old interviews she did before this movie where she was insufferable, so it's not like anyone put words in her mouth. But it wouldn't shock me either that Justin's PR helped instigate some the backlash just like how Blake's PR is stepping in with this article.

Oh no, so now she pays for an article about it when she did the same thing, just his worked better?Β

I guess they fabricated the text messages and various proof written in the article :(. y'all are so... lemme stop here.

if you read the NYT article, that was the agreed upon plan for promoting the movie between the studio, producers and marketing team. Justin only did a 180 when he noticed the backlash Blake started to get for promoting the movie that way.Β

Β

I still have no idea how she was able to get his text messages though.Β

Her filing includes excerpts from thousands of pages of text messages and emails that she obtained through a subpoena. These and other documents were reviewed by The New York Times.

Nnn, that NYT article looks even worse considering his entire brand is about being a male feminist and campaigning against toxic masculinity.Β :deadbanana:

Just because he turned out to be trash doesn't change the fact she still is one as well.

We are not obliged to give someone good 'feels' just so their line of branded products can pivot from negative associations to positive ones for the express purpose of making a millionaire more money.

both of these sh*tty people (that means the overrated gross lady from Gossip Girl who should go back to 2007 where her dusty ass belongs and this gross man I haven't ever heard of before this thread who needs a lip recoloration STAT [do those even exist? they need to] cause his mouth looks thoroughly repugnant) can f*ck right off. they both suck ass and I'd rather never hear about either of their b*tchasses ever again. i'm on no one's side here, i'm against both of them. they both need to go away lol

The truly bizzare scenario that has coincided with this awful film and fallen right into the laps of terminally online blind item consuming users is astounding. I almost don't have words because every angle of it is absurd.Β

I hope that when no one involved in this is around to profit from it substantially, there is also a movie made about this. It seems more interesting than anything that made it to the screen.

And what the constant hate on the internet makes you?

The sudden wave of hate for Blake Lively a few months ago had me confused. It felt out of nowhere and over the top. Knowing now that it was likely a targeted hate campaign makes so much sense.

We're talking past each other so I'll hold off. We made our points.

I'm just genuinely curious where the two of them go from here no matter how the case goes, seeing as this has completely overshadowed the film's legacy permanently.

"I'll hold off" after the "you thought you ate", "sit down" is sending me, I'm sorry.

Oh girl, YOU thought you ate that gotchaΒ :suburban:

Both parties engaged in smear campaigns against each other. Blake simply lost the pr battle, and now she's suing because her privileged self cannot accept not getting her way for once.

Yikes, the fact they had to have a meeting about him showing her naked pictures, talking sexually about the cast and crew and to stop adding sex scenes that were not originally planned is … um yeah. And him hiring Johnny deeps team shows he knows he messed up and needed someone who specializes in smear campaigns against a women to take charge. Concerning to say the leastΒ
