Dolce Vita Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago and they were right to take a risk on her during a time when edm was smashing 1
Mr. Peanutbutter Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Some of the BTD demos kind of eat up the album version

Paros, Texas is a top teir song anyways. @NOW, this was not directed to you or the OP tho. Just those who want BTD 2.0. I'd love to see it, but I understand her reasoning for adapting a more natural style for herself. 1

I think that's my biggest takeaway from the interview - she wanted the resources/support but not necessarily the biggest budget possible, just enough to put her vision to life. If you look at all of the lavish Born to Die videos, they're basically born out of all of the archive video footage she put together for her early demos. She still operates like that today with the way she markets all of her albums. She couldn't have picked a better team to sign with imo.
BrokenMachine Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I still remember hearing that demo and falling in love with her back when she only had Video Games, Blue Jeans and Born To Die. Also the National Anthem demo such a bop, and the demo of This Is What Makes Us Girls. Once the album got released it took me some time to get into the slow versions

In days when her stage fright was lower, she could replicate the studio versions I am aware of those but unfortunately she does sound like this, at least in the tour anymore, and even back then she struggled.

But the demos getting another life of their own and going viral all these years later is nice to see.

I am sure she reached 100M in 2012 alone which would amount to around $300,000.

SLIME Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago That Video Games pic is iconic but I never saw that crop showing the Smurf on her shirt lol.
