prézli Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Justin Timberlake – Memphis 2 of 2 from Justin Timberlake Thoughts: I know "Memphis" is not a fan favorite, but to me, it's one of his best songs in his discography. It's so raw, so simple, so personal, so anti. I can see why it was never a single. It's a fantastic album opener. I wish the rest of the album was something like this. 1
prézli Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Kylie Minogue – Lights Camera Action 1 of 1 from Kylie Minogue Thoughts: It wanted to be "Padam Padam" so much. I wish "Lights Camera Action" became bigger than "Padam Padam" because it's the superior song. It's kinda reminds me of "Work *****" from Britney. Kylie is an ageless queen. Tension II was not good, though.
prézli Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Before we go to the Top 10, here are my #1 songs from this decade: 2023 Kesha – Peace & Quiet 2022 Beyoncé – ALL UP IN YOUR MIND 2021 Aly & AJ – Listen!!! 2020 beabadoobee – Care

TalkThatRihanna Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Beyonce really tugged at Charli's wig with AUIYM. Perched for SOTY RIHveal 1

prézli Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 CXLOE – Gaslight 1 of 1 from CXLOE Thoughts: Probably the most underrated song on my list. This song came at the perfect time to my life. I heard it in summer right after I got laid off from my previous job. My boss tried to gaslight me. "Every word on your lips is a plot twist", she sings and I feel it.
prézli Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 Tove Lo – Jealousy - From the Vault 3 of 3 from Tove Lo Thoughts: I get why "Jealousy" didn't make it to the original "Queen of the Clouds" because "Talking Body" took all the spotlights, but it's great that we could hear it 10 years later. A catchy, Swedish-manifactured banger which is perfect from start to finish. It has to be a hit!
prézli Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 FLO – Shoulda Woulda Coulda 2 of 3 from FLO Thoughts: The early 2000's is right here. A song that Destiny's Child would be jealous of! Their amazing vocal delivery fits the smooth instrumentation very nicely. "Shoulda, woulda, coulda been me and you", as I read it, I can hear the rhythm in my head.
prézli Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 Beyoncé & Dolly Parton – TYRANT 3 of 3 from Beyoncé, 1 of 1 from Dolly Parton Thoughts: The best from "Cowboy Carter". Dolly Parton's feature is totally unnecessary, but after the little intro, the song kicks in the door hard. It's the sister of "ALL UP IN YOUR MIND" ("The rider, always want you, I'll be groupie for you" -> "She's a tyrant every time I ride it, every time I ride it").
prézli Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) Leigh-Anne – I'll Still Be Here 1 of 1 from Leigh-Anne Thoughts: The best solo Little Mix song. I was never a fan of Little Mix, and I always found Leigh-Anne the weakest vocalist, but this has changed. "I'll Still Be Here" might have inspiration from Rihanna's "We Ride". It's a cross between a slow ballad and a soulful number; she uses her voice very well. Edited December 24, 2024 by prézli
Mezik Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I'll Still Be Here is actually a great track, and Leigh Anne should've always done this type of music. Her talent really shines. Tyrant is a highlight of the album too. 1
GreatestLoveofAll Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 this beyonce dominance yesss. also AUIYM is the best song off renny irdc what anyone says. i cant believe how blind i was to it back when the album came out cause its one detraction is how short it is the tension shade but lights camera is cute but i def think as controversial it is, padam was the better and stronger lead. 1
