TalkThatRihanna Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Get it till I'm gone is a BOP Definitely grew on me 1
Suilen Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I agree that the second half of FLO's album was better. Desire is my fave from Tove's EP, but all the songs are good. 1
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 B2b & Busy Girl The way i unironically like JT's Selfish is because of that Mariah AI cover that went viral Honestly, i wouldn't be shocked if JT's team themselves created it in the first place for promo reasons, and it worked on me dd Bronze Avery has been on my recommendation on my Spotify playlist for a while now. Maybe it's time to finally check him out 1
Renzo_ Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Need to check the new stuff from Tove Lo. I love Talking Body. 1
K$Ellie Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Mabel tanked for me this year but About Last Night was iconic B2b is my fave from Brat ahhhhh i love the remix as well tho the FLO album was cute but I mostly listened to Check 1
prézli Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 Shaznay Lewis – Pick You Up (feat. Self Esteem) 1 of 2 from Shaznay Lewis, 1 of 1 from Self Esteem Thoughts: The heart and soul of All Saints is back with her second album after 20 years of the debut. Shaznay Lewis' songwriting is still brilliant. "Pages" is the album that I would expect from a 49-year-old woman. It sounds like an experience of a lifetime and "Pick You Up" is easily among the best tracks. I wish she released this as the first single off the album. So good. The chorus is monumental.
prézli Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) JADE – Fantasy 1 of 1 from JADE Thoughts: I love the UK girl groups, but I never liked Little Mix, "Wasabi" and "Sweet Melody" were the only songs I listened to from them. JADE's first single was underwhelming at best, but she released "FANTASY" and I stopped for a minute. And for more minutes. I found myself pushing repeat on this song. Her debut album looks promising so far! Edited December 19, 2024 by prézli 1
prézli Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 Camila Cabello – pretty when i cry 1 of 1 from Camila Cabello Thoughts: I feel bad. Because Charli xcx barely made it to the list while Camila Cabello is pretty high. Because she's pretty when she cries. I think ATRL is hard on her because "C,XOXO" was decent. Not groundbreaking, not extraordinary, but I can see where she wants to be at as an artist. Too bad that she's not that original... remember she started it in a group. However, she sells "pretty when i cry" to me.
prézli Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 Ravyn Lenae – 1 of 1 1 of 1 from Ravyn Lenae Thoughts: Another artist I know nothing about. "1 of 1" was a recommendation on Spotify and a great discovery as well! Her voice is very unique and fits this guitar-driven track so well. I would love to hear an acoustic version.
prézli Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 Madison Beer – 15 Minutes 1 of 2 from Madison Beer Thoughts: My most anticipated album of 2025 is definitely Madison Beer's. This year, she found her sound and she knows so damn well how to use her voice. I'm glad she's done with the ballads. "15 Minutes" is a serious banger. I hope she keeps finding success in music because she deserves it. 1
K$Ellie Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 oops that Ravyn song was my least fave on her album 15 Minutes was a banger, one of her best for sure Fantasy is a hug bop too but you're dead wrong, AOMD is better the Camila song... couldn't tell you what that sounds like but I loved I Luv It and He Knows!!! 1
Album Leak Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Fantasy is alright, but I feel like if you are going to lean on this type of groovy disco-pop sound this late in the game you need to really innovate, so the track feels a bit derivative of the early 2020s. I've never given much thought to Madison Beer but I am really slayed by 15 minutes right now... what a bop! 1
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Fantasy & 15 Minutes are HUGE bops The way i forgot that Shaznay released an album, and it's genuinely a good one too. Waiting for 20 years for a follow-up album maybe was worth it Ravyn's new album is also really good one too. One of my favorite albums this year 1
GreatestLoveofAll Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 ive heard only good things about ravyn but it takes me forever to get into new acts tbh. TBD on how i feel about her. camila's album is really the most divisive piece of music ive ever seen this year in the stan world. like half yall hate and half defending it. I luv it was weird- too weird- to me but if you guys seem to not all hate it... Jade is another one i need to get into. i feel bad not knowing her music but i never cared for little mix outside two songs so also i love the graphics!!!! 1
Alldeezy Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 yesss 15 minutes Pretty when I cry + Fantasy 1
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted December 20, 2024 ATRL Moderator Posted December 20, 2024 Some good choices here 1
prézli Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 (edited) Addison Rae – Diet Pepsi 1 of 1 from Addison Rae Thoughts: Yes, this is her only song on the list because "Aquamarine" is very weak, I don't get why ATRL stans it. I've been following Addison's work for a year now and "Nothing On but the Radio" made me a fan while "Diet Pepsi" verified this status. I'm glad it went viral because it's so good, and she deserves all the flowers. However, she's very underrated and should be in the place of Tate McRae. Edited December 20, 2024 by prézli
prézli Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 Zeina – Hooked 1 of 1 from Zeina Thoughts: This song was sent by me in the ATRL Song Contest and got very high-rated. Taste! How to sample a 2000's one-hit wonder right. However, its length (2:27) is a crime. A proper bridge would have been nice. Her album is also great, however, "Hooked" is the only song that got me hooked.
prézli Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 Jennifer Lopez – Rebound (feat. Anuel AA) 1 of 2 from Jennifer Lopez, 1 of 1 from Anuel AA Thoughts: First of all, stop hating on this woman! She's a multitalented legend, and "Rebound" is a highlight in her entire discography. Its music video is also superb. She decided to quit at her peak. I prefer the Anuel AA-featured version over the solo which is very funny because using a rapper used to backfire always. But not here because the rapping verses are perfectly timed.
prézli Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 Mabel – Look at My Body Pt. II (feat. Shygirl) 2 of 2 from Mabel, 1 of 2 from Shygirl Thoughts: Mabel delivered. The bridge of "Look at My Body Pt. II" is the best I heard this year. Plus, adding Shygirl to the song was also a great choice because the chemisty between these artists is out of the chart. Why wasn't this a hit in the UK? That country does their female artists so dirty. Shame!
Kern Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 petty when i cry is awesome. It gives me the same fresh vibe as Espresso 1
prézli Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 (edited) Nelly Furtado – Fantasy 1 of 1 from Nelly Furtado Thoughts: Nobody moved for Nelly Furtado's comeback. She looks better than ever, but her music is nowhere near the best. "Fantasy" is her only song that made it to the list. I know "Honesty" was pushed to the playlists and is the fan favorite from "7", but the rawness of "Fantasy" grabbed my attention. I wish it was longer with a sexy rap feature.
