NONONO :clap3: I met them with Pumpin' Blood and since then they're recurrently on my playlists.

I'm pretty sure that's my story as well with NONONO, first Pumpin' Blood, then the rest. I have loved all their albums to date, this years is no exception!

thoughts about:

Toinen Vuosi - EP

Polut kasvaa umpeen

Sadekehä

Kunpa oisin kertonut

Mustangi II

Soittorasia and Yhtä vain mä pyydän are so good albums from this year. my Finnish favorites might be Sadekehä & Soittorasia

Toinen Vuosi EP: Bit too lowkey and low energy for me, also lacking in catchy melodies. I think they also lack something distinct and unique about them to really make me a fan in general. I do sometimes listen to sä saat mut which is to date my favorite song of theirs, but the rest I'm going to need more time with, at least.

Polut kasvaa umpeen: I've been a Vilma Alina fan since Ufoja, but this album wasn't really for me. I think she has lost a lot of the fun quirkiness from the first two albums, and ultimately has become a somewhat boring and banal artist these days. BUT, with all that said, I do really love Paha tapa and Pidän susta irti, so the album still has a few bright spots.

Sadekehä: Never heard of him or this album before. But from listening through it, it's alright, but lacks a real WOW factor. I can definitely see why people would love it though, the sound is very modern and quite fresh in terms of Finnish pop. I thought Kukkakedot was the strongest track.

Kunpa oisin kertonut: Heard of Mirella only by passing because she seems to be absolutely everywhere and huge among young people (which I am not anymore lul) but I've had no real interest in listening to Mirella. But now that I've listened to it a bit... I think Mirella vocals aren't exactly pleasant to the ear. I'd also say the same thing as with Sadekehä, that it lacks a real WOW factor. Timanttei is a cute little bop though. It's overall a no from me though, not for me.

Mustangi II: Love YOUNGHEARTED, haven't listened to anything they've released since Vapaa though... so need to get back to it. This song though? Really like it!

oh no, kauan, joku muu and sun are so good. It is very simple production and sad so I get what you mean

yea I've been only using Polaroid, Polut kasvaa umpeen, Pidän susta irti and Tasan, the other I haven't touched since spring. True Crime was better album imo

the only song I skip from it is Kaihtimet, all the others I love, especially Syttynyt sammumaan, Lupaa et sä lähet, Kukkakedot, Kauniita. light & melancholic finnish pop, it works well as a whole album in shuffle with a bit of time

it had a few nice tracks, Luotathan, Painava sydän and Seireeni. Others have been a bit forgettable

20. Was never a fan of her music and her nasal voice :rip:
19. Not my thing
18. So so... too light for me

17. I always saw as a Lana del Rey Jr. (and that's a problem cuz Lana is super boring IMO) but this dNb mix is actually really fresh :jamming:
16. Once again, DDR vibes :jamming:

15. So so... No. 5 was interesting

14. So so... not really my thing

13. Ok, this gave me real late 90's edm vibes and I really liked it!

12. Interesting, I'll give her a chance like other stuff I found with potential before in your charts

11. So so...

10. Nope...

09. Not bad :jamming:

08. Kinda slow for me, but it's not bad

07. spacer.png  It's nice that not only in Melodeath metal Finland has good stuff #SpoilerOfMyBestOf :eli:

06. Didn't liked her voice :sorry:

Artists That Made 2024: 5-1

tvCj0CP.png5. ELIO
ONPAUSE (2024)
ASPHALT RODEO (2024)
SUPERIMPOSE (2022)

Discovered her last year with A2B, which is still one of the biggest bops of this century. As I researched her discography further this year, and listened to her newly released album, I ended up really liking a lot of her songs! She has no particularly unique or innovative sound, she just makes some really good pop that's fun and easy to listen to. I suppose you could say that she is my Sabrina Carpenter?  I do want to highlight '' ONPAUSE '', because it sounds so basic and lame at first but it becomes really, really amazing with how it builds up to it's finale. '' ASPHALT RODEO '' is also just really freaking fun! Freaking fun is how I'd describe ELIO in general.

xwKNCyE.png4. M¥SS KETA
Main B*tch (2019)
NEVROTIKA (2024)
MUSICA ELETTRONICA (2016)

Another artist that I've known of for a while and listened to some songs of, but never really explored her discography. Well this year I did, and man am I happy that I did so. So much great music in there, and I love her tone of voice, I enjoy her rapping (if you can call it that) and her music just is a whole ass trip really. She's a complete and utter enigma, and that fascinates me, as her identity seems to be somewhat unknown, as she often stays masked one way or another. What a DIVA, a MOTHER, if I may. There were so many songs I could've highlighted from her discography, but I think these three will do a good job at delivering what M¥SS F*CKING KETA is about. Can't wait for her next album!

ZjB7Yym.png3. pins.ku

Hohtaa (2024)

Sido mut feat. Yeboyah (2024)

She started the year releasing an utter banger in January, and closes the year by releasing an utter banger in December. And with only two songs released this year, she makes it all the way to top 3 of best artists this year. Icon behavior, me thinks. '' Hohtaa '' is basically the pinnacle of the liquid dnb bops we've heard a lot as of late, like... this is the supreme of the bunch as of now. And '' Sido mut '', oh god when the chorus explodes into all those sexy, sexy synths... perfection. And I really liked Yeboyah's involvement in the track as well. What can I say, she delivered so hard, and I'm soooo looking forward to her next album. I hope it's as good as all the singles she has released to this date. Don't let me down, my dear khia!

t93tSy9.png2. Hedda Mae

Big heart (2024)
Someone better (2024)
Showdown (2024)

I know we are probably bored of disco-inspired pop at this point, but I think Hedda Mae is 100% onto something with her version of the sound. It's like a combination of 2000s bubblegum pop and disco, with just a pinch of funk. And I think that's a great evolution of the early 2020s dance-disco-pop sound that is so tired now, like I'm bored, give us something new. And Hedda Mae did! '' Big heart '' is probably my favorite song this entire year, it's so fun, cute, positive and full of wamrth, and has such great hooks and melodies. Overall Channel Mae was a very cute album, albeit most of the good songs I loved were singles and released before the album... but Showdown is an album track highlight! I am definitely a stan of this khia at this point, she deserves to get out of the khia jail so much!

xFuQw90.png1. Lady Gaga
Disease (2024)
That's Life (2024)
Die With A Smile (2024)

What can I say, everything she delivered this year was absolutely fabulous. Every time I think I'm tired of her, she proves me wrong! DWAS is a monster hit that is bound to be a timeless classic, Harlequin is an amazing album that's going to age like fine wine unlike most of her other albums, and Disease is an immaculate return to form that I'm still not tired of. I don't know why ATRL has such massively high, impossible expectations for Gaga and nothing she releases is ever good enough... all the while I'm sitting here vibing to everything. So freaking hyped for LG7, as the snippets of Abracadabra, Notorious Being and Zombie Bride(?) all sound absolutely incredible. 2025 will be a great year to be a Gaga fan! I hope...

I think I heard of ELIO before but didn't really delve into her music.

Well, it's nice that there are people who Gaga managed to fully satisfy this year.

Sometimes, an originally deluxe turned into an album work for some artists (SOS deluxe says hello!). But Tension II should not have been an album i fear. It's like she recorded the album for a whole month and said, "F*ck it, just give the fans what they want." nn

Release: Aug 1, 2024

Genre: Electro House, Dance-pop

Listen at Youtube, Spotify, Apple Music

Didn't enjoy brat, didn't care for HMHAS. But this? Amazing.

The three bonus songs have more replay value than a few of the songs on the main album.

Let me go listen to some of these one hit wonders.
