Kern Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 (edited) ...Top 12 albums ...Favorite songs ...Top 20 songs ...Top 5 games ...A blast from the past - favorite music discoveries Edited December 30, 2024 by Kern 1
Kern Posted December 17, 2024 Author Posted December 17, 2024 This year was packed with good music so let's start with albums (and two EPs) #12 - #6 Sometimes you're just like "IDGAF" and this album is perfect for this. And other times you're like - I want to listen to the best polish band. And this is it. Last night... I kissed the DJ ... I mean, the album about dying from a pop star. What could go wrong? Nothing really did, the album is AMAZING. You gotta love the "main character syndrom" allegations when the album is mostly about ilness, death, her son and she mostly sings about how NOT special she really is. ATRL and P4K really, deeply dissapointed me when this came out There's A LOT of personality in their music and this is something urgently needed in the pop sphere! For example Dua Lipa could learn a lot from them. I randomly stumbled upon this album and I really loved it. There's just a lot of honesty, personality and sonic-wise it also goes hard. Strongly recommend. The concept of this album is based on letters of Emiliana's friend mother who passed away. There's a lot of interesting story behind the lyrics but for me it's the production that stands out. Emiliana made an album with this trip-hop sound in the 90s and came back to that sound 25 years later! It's really cool and I love it. Next - top songs. There's MUCH MORE there so stay tuned 1
Ewan Chaos Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 I've heard a lot about fcukers... didn't realize they had a whole album out either so I'll add them to my list! Confidence Man, one of my faves of the year too 1
Suilen Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Confidence Man, heard of it. I thought it was literally a man, but if there's a woman singing, well, let's hear it. Halsey's album was a heavy listen due to all the circumstances, but I appreciate it for what it is. The snark from some publications was uncalled for. 1
Mezik Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Halsey's 'The Great Impersonator' was such a pleasant surprise for me. I loved her previous album, but this album just felt so much more refined and personable. Can't get over how people truly thought it was an album about her praising herself, when it's some of the most vulnerable, raw, depressing work she's released. 1

Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 The Great Impersonator is Low-key neck-and-neck with IICHLIWP as Halsey's best albums, and i want to thank Lonely Is the Muse for that Make You Mine, Nasty and Obsessed 1
Mezik Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Bodyguard, Make You Mine, Spot a Fake. I like how you're separating Favourite Songs from Top Songs. It's interesting to see the dichotomy. 1
Hyune Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Spot A Fake + Make You Mine + Nasty + Obsessed + Hot Uptown 1

Thank you, I couldn't do top 50 songs becasue it would be too hard to rank them all. This way I can just focus on the most favorties and group the rest together 20 hours ago, prézli said: What is this cover, omg don't check the deluxe one I'm making discoveries now and there is plenty. I think I'll post them tommorow but I'm fighting the urge to just dump everything at once Edited December 19, 2024 by Kern

Kern Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 Time for another dump of favorite songs + some discoveries from the past Another songs of Halsey that could belong there are Darwinism, Arsonist or Lonely Is The Muse but I decided to stick with one. Confidence Man also found its way to my top 20 songs (but not the albums). Kit Sebastian I discovered literally yesterday and they shot their way to my best of 2024 immediately. I won't be commenting on I Luv It - if you get it, you get it and if you don't then you don't. -----
