ClashAndBurn Posted Tuesday at 12:30 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:30 AM (edited) All the years of kissing the ring and playing nice with people who hate her and want her gone got her NOTHING! Complete capitulation ending with complete humiliation and rejection Her strategy proved to be a complete and total failure. She could maybe still win with the vote going to the full House, but this is still a major victory for Nancy Pelosi Edited Tuesday at 12:35 AM by ClashAndBurn 1 3

Gov Hooka Posted Tuesday at 12:44 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:44 AM I wish the worst on controlled opposition like AOC who stand to deliberately dupe the activist minded left. Her existence is to continue hoodwinking well-minded yet naive liberals who rightfully do not like the Dem party into still believing they can change it within. She and the squad should be fully squeezed out of the party so an actual left party can rise in the US
Cheers Posted Tuesday at 01:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:03 AM Maybe.. Maybe we should become Republican? Overthrow the Republican party from within?

Relampago. Posted Tuesday at 01:35 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:35 AM AOC is far from perfect but the way y'all poke fun at her for "kissing the ring" and "hoodwinking liberals" is not only contradictory but also ignores the fact that pretty much every progressive movement needs a coalition to build on. Just because AOC didn't get the support of her peers now doesn't mean the work she's doing to make inroads isn't meaningful or won't produce results down the road. I hate having to defend politicians like this, but the constant "KII ANOTHER FAILURE!" from the keyboard warriors is so unhelpful. 2

If she continues to support a theory of change that involves the democrat party there will be no meaningful results down the road. We have witnessed the past six years of AOC's time in office resulting in her moving to the *RIGHT* on several issues, as opposed to the dem party moving to the left. Frankly her and her "squad's" inability and lack of desire to actually hold the dem establishment's feet to the flames is why we're here. third party or bust and I'm not the only former "progressive"/"leftist" who thinks this now
ATRL Administrator Ryan Posted Tuesday at 02:29 AM ATRL Administrator Posted Tuesday at 02:29 AM These old fuckers are determined to drag the party into the grave. Disgusting.

Because they believe she's anti-establishment? Like, I'm not going to bat for any politicians and in some ways AOC has disappointed me as well, but treating this as anything other than a defeat of the things we supposedly stand for as progressives is wrong. Most people are not as tuned in to politics as people in this thread/Election thread. For all intents and purposes, AOC is still a socialist to most Americans, whether they like that or not is another story. But they do not know that she made nice with Nancy Pelosi, they don't know she's moved "right" (her voting record largely does not reflect this despite internet fingers getting upset she campaigned for Harris). It's hard to believe some people actually want progress when they laugh in the face of it failing. AOC and Harris are hardly the same situation, if someone to the left of AOC was in her position they wouldn't have been nominated to the Oversight Committee either.
