LVMH: Why Beyoncé's Whisky and Jay-Z's Champagne Are Starting to Embarrass Moët Hennessy

Jay-Z's involvement in a rape case tarnishes his image and potentially that of the group

It's the final straw: already amidst a governance crisis, Moët Hennessy, LVMH's "wine and spirits" division, is questioning the future of its alcohol brands represented by the power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z. The latter is now facing accusations of rape involving a minor, according to La Lettre.

Armand de Brignac and SirDavis

To recap, Moët Hennessy has owned 50% of Roc Nation since 2021, a brand created by Jay-Z to distribute his Armand de Brignac champagne. Meanwhile, his wife Beyoncé launched her own SirDavis whisky brand in August 2024, also distributed by Moët Hennessy.

Judicial Trouble and Luxury Branding

Jay-Z's legal troubles put LVMH in an uncomfortable position. Both Jay-Z and Beyoncé are ambassadors for Tiffany & Co, a flagship luxury brand, and they frequently attend Louis Vuitton fashion shows as well as private events with the Arnault family, as La Lettre reports.

An Unnatural Union?

The issue becomes even more critical as it takes shape against a backdrop of disagreements between the two future leaders of Moët Hennessy. If Alexandre Arnault, who considers himself a friend of both stars, launched these partnerships, the future CEO of LVMH's "wines and spirits" division, Jean-Jacques Guiony, has always expressed opposition to associating the brand with celebrities or the "people" culture.

Armand de Brignac Investments Suspended

Investments in the Armand de Brignac brand—facetiously nicknamed Arnaque de Brigand (a pun meaning "Scam of the Bandit") by LVMH's vendors—are expected to be "put on hold" pending the continuation or withdrawal of the charges against Jay-Z, who remains presumed innocent.

This is the type of things I said about false accusations being as bad as rape itself

Someone can completely make something up and tarnish the image of a man forever

The case looks more and more like he is completely innocent but the damage is done now

Nothing can reverse a false accusation

They know the woman had no chance against the machine behind Jay-Z, good move for the brand, people will never forget, even if she intentionally changed some facts to protect herself, Jay Z will forever be considered guilty.

I stopped thinking there might be anything of value when I got to: "To recap, Moët Hennessy has owned 50% of Roc Nation since 2021..."

Anyway, at this point Beyoncé could split with LVMH and be fine if she wanted to continue making this whiskey...all the collab did was add a little touch of luxury from the establishment to it but let's not act like LVMH is the reason it sold 75% of its first year stock before it was even launched.

Why should JayZ be forever considered guilty? Have you considered the fact that he is innocent ? NBC interview had an interview with the Jane Doe and her story her inconsistent . JayZ was not even in the so called party the night the so called event happened

Do you guys know how much false accusations can ruins one life? Never seen a more bias site like members of this forum.

To label someone who is not confirmed guilty is disgusting . I don't know why the MODS are allowing this. You are a shitty and disgusting person

right...

saying Roc Nation "a brand created by Jay-Z to distribute his Armand de Brignac champagne" is insane :dies:

this "article" is written by someone who doesn't even know how to use Google.

This is why it's become so enticing to threaten famous/wealthy people with bogus lawsuits and accusations. Public figures are usually willing to pay a generous settlement, since they know that the press will destroy their reputation even if the claim has no merit. Even though the Jay-Z accusers story has completely fallen apart, the damage is probably done to his brand.

I don't think it's true but we will see in the upcoming months.

If they do drop Beyonce (don't care about Jay), ultimately it doesn't matter, that whisky was just a quick cash grab anyway. Good riddance. :michael:
