She has a smaller role than in the first part, at least that's how it is in the stage musical, according to stans on X. 

 

I think the movie could be a little different with more Glinda in it than how it is in the stage musical. I mean, both her and Elphaba also get a brand new original song in Wicked: For Good, that's what the director said a couple weeks ago and I don't see why they wouldn't perform their songs in the movie as well. It wouldn't make sense to just add it for the soundtrack alone. Who knows.

yes. the other speculation is that for the second movie, they might campaign Ariana Grande for Best Actress and Cynthia Erivo for Best Supporting Actress — which, if true, would indicate at least equal screen time if not more Glinda-focused.

 

I'm very curious to find out more. I've never seen the musical, though I have a general idea of what happens in the second act. I'm certain things will be straightened out and explored more than the stage show allowed, considering the run time limitation. Perhaps drawing more from the book?

yeah this is clearly a result of the movie underperforming outside of the anglosphere, "part 2" only would've worked if it was a smash everywhere and not just the english markets. now they still want the chance to catch a broad audience with part 2 and not just the crowd that watched part 1

 

the marketing is really on point and smart.  doubt it will change anything but they're trying.

Yes. Part 1 was basically the 'prologue', so in part 2 there's gonna be way more development of the plot already seen
