Gaga and Abel don't "need" anything. They're music icons with massive talent and respect, and their discographies are some of the best that exist. This ridiculous narrative that artists need to be commercially successful with every release they put out is asinine. They create music and as a consumer you can consume or not, but don't act like they're going to be completely irrelevant if they reach don't reach some constantly moving bar for success you determine to be the standard with this new release.
