He had 2 back to back successful shows with 100 and 151 episodes in total so I guess he earned himself right to retire from acting after spending whole childhood in it. 

 

They will definity be missed, but I am so excited either way. Show hasn't aged a bit, every single episode of it was high quality.

I didn't know I wanted this but I'm hyped! The ending to the series wasn't good IIRC so it will be nice to get better closure.

 

I think Reese may make a cameo. But Dewey is completely off the grid.

A lot of the late 90s / early 00s shows don't really hold up, tbh. My dad owns the DVDs, which is how I got into it, and I honestly think it's my fav sitcom ever. Never understood why it's left off lists with Friends, Seinfeld, Simpsons, etc.

 

Anyway, Bryan has been talking about wanting to revive the show since Breaking Bad, so it's no surprise it's finally happening, but to see the original creator back + writing / directing the episodes is a fantastic solution. I think Malcolm's daughter will likely be like Billie in Wizards Beyond, but even more of a troublemaker, MITM style. Maybe they should get Brenda Song for his wife? I feel like that could be an interesting Francis / Piama kind of vibe.

 

4 eps also works well because it serves as a reunion and actually makes sense under the guise of a wedding anniversary. I don't think they need a full season order and a movie doesn't suit the format at all. I hope they don't switch course like Moana 2 did and develop it as a film instead. The show randomly surges on Disney+ charts in several countries (especially Mexico, Australia, and Canada for some reason) so I actually think this will be huge.

Justin (Reese) reposted it on his Insta and Deadline also reports that both he and the actor who plays Francis are likely to be approached, so I think they'll be back.

 

I really hope they find a way to get Dewey back, even for just a short scene or two, even though he's been totally AWOL since the show ended.

What are you talking about? Series finale was amazing.
