Little Dark Age Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 Ugh late once again Anyway some interesting stats this week so a quick recap. Ozuna and Cardi take "La Modelo" to the top this week. It's the first track recorded predominantly in Spanish to reach No. 1 since "Chantaje" which reigned for five consecutive frames at the end of 2016. It's also the first chart topper for both acts involved; Cardi is also the first female rapper to top the chart since 2015 and claims the chart's first No. 1 involving a female vocalist overall since October 2016 (Kelela's "Waitin"). Young Fathers' "In My View" rockets 13-5, becoming the group's first top 10 and knocking songs by Ariel Pink, MGMT, Emmett Kai and SZA down one spot each. Bruno Mars and Cardi B's "Finesse" adjusts up 11-10, marking Bruno's eighth visit to the region since the chart's 2012 start as well as Cardi B's third visit following "No Limit" and "La Modelo". It's also the fourth top 10 from the 24K Magic era following "24K Magic" (No. 5 in 2016), "Versace On the Floor" (No. 8 in 2017) and "That's What I Like" (No. 6 in 2017). "God's Plan" blasts in as the top debut at No. 11, becoming Drake's highest peaking hit since "Work" (No. 1 for 1 week in 2016) and his biggest as a lead artist since "Hotline Bling" (No. 1 for 1 week in 2015). Justin Timberlake notches his third (fourth including retro charts) top 20 with "Say Something", as it launches with two days of spins at No. 16. His biggest hit to date, "Mirrors", only reached No. 11 upon initial release but has become one of my favorite pop songs of the decade. Other highlights: Lady Gaga notches another entry with the piano version of "Joanne", Bazzi's "Mine" is top gainer as it flies 75-40, Sigrid's "Strangers" bumps 39-28 and Childish Gambino's "Terrified" re-enters the chart. Album of the Week No. 1 (new) Gumboot Soup - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard (71 plays) Top tracks: "Greenhouse Heat Death" and "Beginner's Luck"
Remmy Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 The new JT track is meh, just listened to the new album hours ago and it rounds out my bottom 5. Joanne The original version is superior but it's still beautiful for sure. Legend snapped. Anywhere coming thru Her best song in years, and possibly overall! Never expected iT. Charli/Tove/ALMA, P!nk, Demi, St. Vincent, Kesha, Dua and Lorde (HD) slipping Niall, Justin (Fil), Lorde x2 goin' up Another big boost for Sigrid Bruno top 10
Kevin2803 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Say Something is cute She Loves Control & Into It
Little Dark Age Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 once again late the "tracking week" ends tonight so expect another issue soon. note: the Feb 8 issue reflects the effect of the week after the Grammys (Jan. 27-Feb. 2) Recap like last week: Young Fathers score their first No. 1 single as debut entry "In My View" flies 5-1 in its third week on the chart. Former No. 1s "La Modelo" (Ozuna and Cardi B), "Hand It Over" (MGMT) and "Boogie" (BROCKHAMPTON) adjust down one spot each to land in rungs No. 2 - 4. As MGMT's forthcoming (since released) album approaches, lead off and title track "Little Dark Age" rebounds 7-6. In its 16 run it has spent 7 consecutive weeks at the top and has yet to drop below No. 7. Drake notches his eighth top 10 and first in nearly two years as "God's Plan" inches 11-10 in its second frame. "Pray For Me" takes the top debut at No. 17 as fellow Black Panther track "All the Stars" shuffles 20-15 as it claims a new peak. It's the eighteen entry on the main chart for both The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar. Jennifer Lopez lands her first Hot 75 entry in nearly four years as "Us" takes No. 67 in its debut frame. The Grammys bump is almost non-existent this year but does keep some nominated and preformed tracks afloat: "Praying", "Joanne", "The Weekend" and "Supermodel" all retain their positions from last week as does "Redbone" as it tallies a 52nd week on the chart.
K$Ellie Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Boogie serving longevity Supermodel isn't bad but it's nothing special, maybe it'll grow on me Pray For Me debuting and All The Stars going top 15 The Weekend only peaking at #14 tho Get Out debuting and Anywhere rising Into It, Waitin and New Rules falling pretty hard
Remmy Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Us is cute, but not enough for me to download iT. On the Loose coming thru Get Out as well Demi, P!nk and Niall (SH) on their way out Gaga already stalling Though it's not a surprise. Bruno already slipping out of the top 10 Rita, Justin (Fil) and Lorde (Lia) moving up
Topmaster 2 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Sigrid and The National must rise! Chris Stapleton
