Feanor Posted Monday at 07:13 PM Posted Monday at 07:13 PM (edited) Quote For 97 years, the editors of TIME have been picking the Person of the Year: the individual who, for better or for worse, did the most to shape the world and the headlines over the past 12 months. In many years, that choice is a difficult one. In 2024, it was not. Since he began running for President in 2015, perhaps no single individual has played a larger role in changing the course of politics and history than Trump. Quote Today, we are witnessing a resurgence of populism, a widening mistrust in the institutions that defined the last century, and an eroding faith that liberal values will lead to better lives for most people. Trump is both agent and beneficiary of it all. For marshaling a comeback of historic proportions, for driving a once-in-a-generation political realignment, for reshaping the American presidency and altering America's role in the world, Donald Trump is TIME's 2024 Person of the Year. TIME -–––––––––––––––––––––––––––– The shortlist: Spoiler Who Will Be TIME's Person of the Year for 2024? See the Shortlist Quote On Thursday, TIME will announce the 2024 Person of the Year. Since 1927, TIME has named a person, group, or concept that had the biggest impact—for good or for ill—on the world over the previous 12 months. In 2023, TIME selected pop superstar Taylor Swift as Person of the Year. Other previous selections include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the "spirit of Ukraine" in 2022, tech titan Elon Musk in 2021, the Ebola fighters in 2014, and former U.S. President Barack Obama in 2012 and 2008. Ten candidates, revealed this morning on NBC's Today show, are under consideration for TIME's annual designation. Here are the finalists, in alphabetical order by last name. It's not "best person of the year", but the person who have made a huge impact on the world good or bad. As long as the article about the person they select is critical and discusses why their impact on the world actually not good, I think it's fine. Like if they select Netanyahu and roast his ass in the magazine, that would actually be good considering Time is a very reputable magazine. If they don't I would lose respect for them. I think it's gonna go to Trump or Rogan anyway. Hope it goes to Navalnaya although I feel like it should actually go to her husband

But its unfortunate seeing people we don't agree with being that impactful. Anyway, it's not like they're not the former and future president of the united states and the billionare owner of twitter and tesla, so.. At the end of the day, it is what it is 1
