Squall Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) You read about Taylor giving out a life changing/huge amount of money to people to thank them for their work and your first reaction is to put a dislike? Some of you are really miserable honestly, at this point you are just bad people @ICLDXU4HS Edited December 9, 2024 by Squall 3 1

You must be living in a different world than the rest of us… In the real world, loyalty gets you more work (overwork, burnout, etc.) for no extra money and maybe, if you’re lucky, a cute severance package (maybe two weeks pay) when they decide to lay you off. I promise you, very few if any other billionaires are giving their blue collar workers six-figure bonuses especially in entertainment. You do nobody any favours by pretending this kind of thing is the norm (and yes, it should be). I do agree, "praise" would be going too far as this is simple basic human decency, but in this specific case she is modelling the behaviour that should be adopted more and is seen way too infrequently by those who own means of production. 8
liam13 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 i'd take a change in her pocket over a signed poster in a heartbeat
dumbsparce Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 That's precisely 10% of the gross isn't it? Which is huge considering how many huge expenses have to be covered before Taylor pockets the rest.

It's normal to give loyal workers a bonus. Why is every applauding her? She is giving what's just change money and won't even feel this in her bank account. Nothing? It's 10% of the entire tour's net gross, production, traveling, booking venues, the base salary of each dancer, truck driver, stage constructor, security guard, wardrobe, logistics and so on extremely likely individually each add another $100-200m to the tour costs, before any tax cut. That bonus is MASSIVE even with how huge (and expensive) the tour was This all probably came from Taylor's cut of the tour profit, which in a way makes sense as she owns the touring company producing the whole thing, she's establishing a solid foundation for upcoming tours and benefiting everyone who made it possible to make Eras. Velvet Night Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 That is amazing. Good for her and good for the workers! And on top of that, she donated to food banks in all of the cities her tour had stops in. You can say a lot of things about Taylor but you can't say she's not generous and doesn't take good care of her people. 1
