insomniac Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) When the bodega order was brought up by LA Times during her new film's "Unstoppable" press tour, she had this to say to her co-star (who was asked about his bodega order—he's also from the Bronx like Jen): J.Lo: "Be careful [in answering that], because they are going to make fun of you—for years and years and years about it. It's so great. It's like you say these things, and you think: 'Really? That's what you want to talk about? Congratulations!'." Jharrel Jerome: "What was wrong with your answer?" J.Lo: "I don't know. It was just the truth." (laughs) "And I just, was like, these little quarter drinks that were like 25 cents and I just remembered them and I didn't think anybody else knew about them, so. I don't know—I did something terribly wrong." Edited December 8, 2024 by insomniac 5 1
Truth Teller Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Quote J.Lo: "Be careful [in answering that], because they are going to make fun of you—for years and years and years about it. It's so great. It's like you say these things, and you think: 'Really? That's what you want to talk about? Congratulations!'." Um she chose to put this in her own documentary. And she produced that so no one forced her to say it or to include it in the final cut. It's not like she was asked at a press junket where she had to answer and then it got isolated and used against her. She selected this bit to go into the documentary because she wanted to appear real and relatable, using a life story that is either completely made up or, at best, exaggerated for that exact purpose. She's just a little mad that, after getting away with that for 25 years, she's now being called out on her bs. It's been a tough year for her but she's a product of a celebrity zeitgeist that doesn't work anymore. She'll adjust 4 10 2 4 14
shoganai Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 She's out of touch and in her own world she can't even comprehend the meaning of those criticisms lol 2 17

She'll adjust sis what are you talking about, this is not about her documentary but her VOGUE interview where people drag her for answering the randomest question ever. They thought she was making up her order at the Bodega when she said "orange drink iykyk" whereas the people dragging her weren't even born at that time this is was clearly blind hatred, no one shoud be receive that much hate for saying what was their order at the damn Bodega 30 years ago Edited December 8, 2024 by Mokichi 11 3
Ricardo1993 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 J.Lo and Jharrel's chemistry is a bit...off but she looks fantastic and I hope she at least gets an Oscar nomination for this role. 2

She put this out there. But yeah, my bad 1 6

It's just that there's a generation gap between her and the 23 year old New Yorkers that were unfamiliar with how bodega orders worked in the 80s, LMAO. As a New Yorker I see it happening in real time. Some younger New Yorkers grew up on chopped cheese sandwiches - I've literally never had one. 6 1

Like it's not that serious. All these twinks on Twitter claim to hate J Lo yet they watch her every move. 8

Phaunzie Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 I am still trying to figure out why people are still bothered by what she said. 4
LovingDays Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Here come the JLo haters that are now PISSED because she explained away one of the last thing they had against her Stolen vocals, DEBUNKED. Orange drink, a big nothing burger. "She's rude," DEBUNKED. They're really just miserable 4
Slap Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 People just hate her because they're jealous that she's beautiful, booked, rich, talented, defies expectations and never gives up. It's no wonder people sitting at home who think X is a social life love to hate her. 6
AlanRickman1946 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I'm a Mariah fan through and through but Jennifer Lopez really has immaculate styling and makeup. I love her outfits!!! 1

Mornings Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I knew exactly what she was talking about, but the issue was that she made a terrible album and a terrible movie and a terrible documentary about how powerful her love was, and made us all hear about it for years. it was so fake and weird we all saw through it and then she got divorced. The orange drink was just so cringe that it was ONE of the things people were laughing at 2
