Meghan is one of the few people in pop that I actually don't recognize anymore. If you showed me this video without telling me it was her, I would have no idea. It's not just the weight loss. Her face is almost entirely different now.

 

I think she's been pretty open about her surgeries and if she feels better, that's great. But there was something distinctive about her old look (at least compared to other popstars), that she traded in.

This was one of the most obvious PR stunts of all time though. She did not care one bit about how they altered her body. The truth is, back then she had a competent manager (Troy Carter) who knew this could become a good talking point to promote the single and that is why they did this whole thing, it causes online outrage, makes people upset in self-righteous indignation, and drives the popularity of the song since they check out the video in the process. That is the reason this was orchestrated, not because Meghan had any real issue. Just the same thing as when she "fell" during that Fallon performance. It was planned for headlines.
