The girls who praise Britney have nothing to gain from her as she has basically retired and distanced herself from the industry. The incredible pop music she has gifted us with simply stood the test of time.

I agree, the ones I was thinking of weren't Britney related actually. One example is the recent Sabrina - Christina relation which seemed quite fabricated to me because they organised a bunch of events around it (but maybe I'm just cynical )

Nah. Sabrina has always loved Xtina, it's true she was only acknowledged by her idol after becoming a global sensation but that's not weird because it's when we all acknowledged her after all.

 

As for Miley, I'm always on the fence considering if I actually like her or not but her adoration for Britney is very compelling to me. It's a shared experience I have with her and it's like pretty major for both of us as people. Maybe I should warm up to her and become a fan somewhere down the road.
