I saw him play Hamlet at the RSC and the next day he came to talk to my little university group and answer some questions, seemed like a nice guy and he's a very good actor!

Still probably won't watch but nice to see a talented actor get a big gig like this.

Ugh, uncast him. Snape has a very specific description that does not lend itself to race swapping. And don't come with the racist bullshit because this is specifically about the character, there are others (like Hermione) which could easily be race swapped because their description lends to it.

I haven't seen him in anything so i don't know why he got it. I think snape is the most crucial part to Cast right after the trio, so i guess he wowed them. At least i hope so

The way I know the Quartering and Shad are having nuclear meltdowns and drafting up their hit pieces on the show (so predictable). I am just happy the show hasn't been cancelled, thank you HBO. If it were Disney, I would have been worried.

Tbh his character doesn't really need to be any specific race, but the amount of hate and vile **** this man will receive is going to be absolutely ridiculous, we already know that.

 

Anyway, I haven't seem him in anything so I can't speak for his acting. Seems to be the right age, way too handsome though. Not sure what they're doing with this one.

at this point it's not representation - it's a publicity stunt. i feel for this man, as others have said, he's going to receive a LOT of hate. and all so that the show could get some outrage and media articles keeping it in everyone's heads…

 

this is very deliberate and not in a 'healing social issues' kind of way.

I honestly don't care who they cast. I don't care about any race swap, if they see an actor they feel fit for the role then hopefully they made the right decision.

However, I won't be supporting this show. Not after J.K. Rowlings transphobic views and the WB supporting her comments. They're both trash.
