Illuminati Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 (edited) I feel like the artists are... at the very least, prepared for this because ever since the iTunes peak they've been making less money every year. It's been known, that's why everyone does brand deals and the money either comes from that or from touring. Luckily AI can't replace those I also think that there will always be a desire for human involvement when it comes to art. You can hang a bunch of ikea / walmart canvas art on your walls but it won't make your house an art gallery. Edited December 5, 2024 by Illuminati

What's the point of art if you don't get the point of view of the artist? It's generally background music to videos or ads. Those songs are usually simple and basic. Some artists made a living of selling those but with AI those will be gone. But to be honest I think those artist will learn no adapt to the new environment and still make a living. Just not in that branch.
FOCK Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Fortunately, it will never be able to replicate or produce material to the extent Nicki Minaj can - wordplay & lyricism interweaving triple entendre, cultural references, & context cues that often rely on a specific method of delivery. Poor your other faves tho.

You all can have the giggles and fantasies in the world but wait till your faves make a fit and stop releasing music altogether because of your reasoning. Let's see how you like that. Sis, what is this comment? Even if they all stopped releasing music, that would just give even more space to AI since it would continue to make new songs. But also, there will never be that level of unity amongst people to engage in this sort of unified action. Musicians are not going to stop releasing music. But our faves (except Taylor) are releasing super rarely anyway so it's not like it makes a big difference. Like when was Adele's last album like 6 years ago?

No? Altered sure but not manufactured. Like, I appreciate the need to be different and edgy but I cannot imagine comparing something made by a human, even if it's a little adjusted to something made by a machine. Where's the emotion? Where's the experience?
Phaunzie Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 ok. Musicians have been combating this for years now. It is why everyone and their mama has a perfume, clothing line and makeup brand.

HealerKirby Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 It will be for background music like these Youtube compilations
DAP Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 When the chart topping hits of the future are all ad jingles
Kamil24 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 It's no where near good enough yet. But AI is still in the early stages and for that, it can do quite a lot. I expect eventually the quality will really improve and AI music will take over unfortunately.

Plus the lyrics in most songs are basically gibberish anyway, so AI lyrics are not that out of place compared to most pop songs. yikes imagine openly stating you prefer AI generated voices over real ones some people rly have both bad taste and no shame 1

Soda Pop Queen Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hopefully many musicians with some pull can form like Voltron to cut this devilry off at the knees. Go to capitol hill to try to get most of this useless A.I. **** banned. 1
